Kaivalyadhama organises 10th International Conference on Yoga and Mental Health

IYA also participated in the 3-days International Conference

The 10th International Conference on Yoga and Mental Health by Kaivalyadhama saw a successful arrival of participants in 2021 as it aimed to initiate a forward-looking debate and discussion on integrating traditional Yogic science with modern psychological systems.

The conversations addressed a range of mental well-being issues from routine conditions to chronic ailments. The conference was inaugurated amongst dignitaries like Chief Guest Honourable Shri. Justice Supreme Court Abhay Oka, Shri Justice (Retd.) B.N.Srikrishna, Guest of Honour Shri Justice Ramesh Dhanuka along with Dr O.P. Tiwari, Member, Governing Council, Indian Yoga Association.

Commenting about the conference, Sh. Subodh Tiwari CEO of Kaivalyadhama, Vice President, IYA said, “With this 3-day conference, we have spread global consciousness through systematic agendas and provided long-term solutions to the world for managing and promoting mental health as well as emotional health with the help of yoga. This 3-day conference was not only focusing on giving theoretical knowledge but gave practical experience as well through its workshops and the attendees thoroughly enjoyed it.” In the Valedictory function, Guest of Honour DIG Sh. Sandeep Patil (Gadchiroli) shared his experiences on how yoga and meditation have helped him throughout his career in maintaining his composure in the toughest of situations. He recommends meditation for daily recharging of body and mind to face any challenges in life.

Swami Kuvalayananda, founder of Kaivalyadhama, had a firm conviction that Yoga is an indispensable tool for evolving human consciousness and for social welfare. The conference was successfully concluded with the participants pledging to spread the message of holistic living through Yoga and work towards a peaceful and healthy world.

Even, Justice C V Bhadang said that we identify so much with our physical body that we forget about our higher practices and mentioned this conference theme of Yoga and Mental Health is apt for our current times. While Dr. Sat Bir Singh Khalsa shared his findings on how yoga interventions have helped reduce anxiety in children, Dr Shivarama Varambally shared his insights on the futuristic evolution of Yoga in promoting and managing mental health.

Every three years, Lonavala witnesses a flurry of renowned doctors, scientists, dignitaries and delegates to attend Kaivalyadhamas International Conference in the last week of December. With the current pandemic situation, the 10th International Yoga Conference was back at Lonavala in a hybrid format – with limited members enjoying the on-site experience and thousands attending the conference virtually through live streaming on www.kdham.com and Youtube.

HPSCC meets Online

Himachal Pradesh State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association met online on December 14, 2021 at 7pm under the chairmanship of Smt Lakshmi Dutt Sharma.

During the meeting it was decided that the SCC members would meet online every month and physically every third month. Members will organise events with IYA banner and share reports with the secretariat.

The Yoga and Naturopathy Advisory Board has been constituted by the SC and its meeting was held on December 21, 2021. The points discussed in the meeting included commencement of yoga classes at school level, creation and filling up the posts of yoga teachers and engagement of trained yoga teachers at the wellness centres as yoga volunteers after YCB Level 12 certification.

Gujarat SCC celebrates its 2nd Anniversary

Gujarat State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association virtually celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day on December 26, 2021. The main objective of the entire event is to make the youth aware of yoga. Youth is like wealth for any nation. The development and prosperity of the nation rests in the hands of the youth. It is the moral responsibility of all of us to keep Yuvadhan safe and healthy. Through yoga, not only values can be developed in the youth but they can be kept healthy physically, mentally, emotionally. Through yoga, they can be imbued with moral values by introducing them to the Indian Yoga tradition.

The celebrations commenced with prayers by Shri Rajeev Kumar Mishra after which he welcomed the dignitaries. Thereafter, Pujya Acharya Lokesh Muniji Founder, Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati, Delhi spoke on Yoga for Youths. Dr HR Nagendra, President, IYA and Chancellor, VYASA in his address spoke about the Need of Yoga Education for Youths. This was followed by Dr. Ishwar Basavaraddi’s, Member, Governing Council, IYA and Director, MDNIY, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India talk on Importance of Yoga for Youths. Shri Subodh Tiwari, Vice President, IYA and CEO, Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute shared his views on Yoga for Well-being.

Dr. Anand Balyogi Bhavnani, Director, Standing Publications, Publicity and PR Committee – IYA and Director, Balaji Vidya Peeth spoke on Yoga for youth according to yogic scripture and Dr SP Mishra, Vice President and CEO, PrCB on Yoga & Value Education for Youths, Dr. Arpan Bhatt
Professor & HOD, Swasthavrutta and Yoga, Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda Jamnagar on Importance of Yoga for youth in day to day life.

Dr. Rajnish Sharma Yoga Expert, IYA discussed in detail on Personality development through Yoga and Smt Meetal Koticha Shah, Vice Chairperson Gujarat Chapter, IYA & Joint Executive Trustee, Project ‘Life’, Rajkot spoke about on Yogamay Yuvadhan. Acharya Birju Maharaj Chairman, Gujarat Chapter, IYA concluded the event, Shri Kamlesh Udasi, Secretary, Gujarat Chapter, IYA gave the Vote of Thanks.

Indian Yoga Association was founded by Padma Vibhushan Yogi Dr. b.k.s Iyengar ji in which Pujya Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, Pujya Yoga Rishi Swami Ramdevji Maharaj, Dr. Pranav Pandyaji, Sadguru Jaggi Vasudevji, Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, Swami Bharat Bhushanji, Shri O. P . Tiwariji, mother Dr. Hansaji Yogendra, Pujya Kamlesh D. Patel (Daji), Dr. Ishwar Basavreddyji, Guruji Dr. H. R . Nagendraji, Smt. Kamlesh Barwalji and many yoga gurus of the country are associated, with the blessings of all of them, a campaign is going on to make yoga world-wide and reach the masses.
