Associate Centers celebrates IDY @Home 

Chiranjiv Foundation celebrates IDY differently

Chiranjiv Foundation is the Associate Centre of IYA.

Chiranjiv Foundation celebrated 6th International Day of Yoga in association with Rathi Foundation and Balkayan Sanstha, Pune with special children.

Yoga is a conventional long-established and time-tested art and therapeutic science that has positive contribution to make in maintenance of general well being and happiness of all. ‘We believe in making difference and helping those who are in need. So new thought for celebrating International Yoga day for children came in our mind said’, Dr Sunanda Rathi, Director of Chiranjiv Foundation, Yoga Researcher.

A unique yoga asana competition was also organized.

Adhering to the theme of IDY, Chiranjiv Foundation also performed yoga at home. Dr Sunanda Rathi also held an online session on yoga industrial forum.

Indica Yoga organises Global Festival of Yoga

Indica Yoga in collaboration with Indian Yoga Association organized a Global Festival of Yoga 2020 to promote greater awareness of benefits of yoga in maintaining a healthy, peaceful body and mind starting from June 21-July 20, 2020.

This soulful immersion included interactions and practice with over a 100 Yoga Experts consisting of leading scholars, practitioners, researchers and artists from around the globe across more than 50 countries on the occasion of 6th International Day of Yoga. Indica Yoga is the Associate Centre of IYA.

The event is also supported by European Union of Yoga, Center for Soft Power, Global Peace Initiative of Women, Rtambhara Wellness, Ritambhara, Vyasa Yoga & Ayurveda Singapore Pvt. Ltd and VYASA Houston – Alumni Group.

HSTY celebrates Yoga

HSTY is the Associate Centre of IYA. Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga (HSTY) celebrates IDY with great enthusiasm. HSTY organized more than 20 sessions in 9 locations (India, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, USA, UK, South Africa) reaching thousands of people across 4 continents. In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic this year, yoga was mostly practiced from the safety of people’s homes, but where the situation allowed it, we held in-person sessions as well.

Highlighting the depth and breadth of traditional yoga, HSTY offered a variety of diverse programs in interesting formats to show people practical ways of achieving alignment, health and equanimity. From panel discussions on the integral connection between Yoga and Sanskrit and the wisdom of Yoga Sutras for daily life, sessions of bringing balance through chanting, to traditional yoga sessions for stress and anxiety, special yoga sessions for teens and children and talks on importance of yoga in daily life, our calendar was filled with interesting sessions!

On this special day, HSTY founder Mohanji launched the book ‘Traditional Yoga – Into the Depth of Yoga’. With detailed descriptions and pictorial representations of various asanas, pranayamas and bandhas, this book is a handy guide to the essential practices of traditional yoga.

Faculty and certified teachers also participated in global initiatives – Healing Our Earth Together and World Unity Week (initiative to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the UN) to spread the wisdom of Yoga to a wider audience across the world.

Swasti Yoga Center promotes Yogic Lifestyle

– IDY yoga day awareness program with integration of Ayurveda and Yoga for healthy lifestyle conducted for Indian Dental Association, Pune branch.
– Yoga Instructor, Yoga Educator and Kids Yoga competitions conducted for 15 days during IDY month.
– IDY Protocol Yoga session conducted for more than 2000 participants in Latin America with Ayurvastu, Chile
– Dr. Vikas Chothe conducted an awareness program on local news channel- Maval Varta sensitizing people of importance of Ayurveda and Yogic lifestyle during COVID-19 times.

ACT Yoga treats Senior Citizens & Corporate with Yoga Session

ACT Yoga is the Associate Centre of IYA. On IDY, ACT Yoga which is taken care of by Dr. N. Ganesh Rao conducted two sessions to celebrate:

– Free Online Holistic Yoga Session was conducted for Senior Citizens – parents and grandparents from 4.30 to 5.30 p.m. The Session included Sukshma Vyayama, Meditation and Pranayama ending with OM chanting. The response was heartening with more than
300 individuals participating including more than 30 foreigners. The pamphlet for this Session is sent to you.

– Online Yoga Session for All-India employees of Bluestar Ltd. was conducted from 8 to 9 am. This Yoga session catered to a number of individuals who may not have been practicing Yoga or familiar with Yoga. The Session included Dharana / Dhyana practices, Pranayama practices and some stretches and Asanas. More than 500 employees may have taken advantage of this session with encouraging feedback.

Project ‘Life’ organizes Yoga sessions and Photo Contest

Project ‘Life’ is the Associate Centre of IYA. Project ‘Life’ organized a special Yoga Photo Contest for all Yoga Lovers. 100 photographs of Yoga Postures from Yoga Practitioner came in for selection. Committee of Project ‘Life’ selected the names of winners in which under 14 category Mahi Mehta got first prize and Ms. Rahsi Mehta got second prize. In general category Ms. Alka Vekaria and Sakina Bharmal got first and second prizes. In the category of senior citizen Ms. Manorma Mehta and Shri Mahendra Rawal selected for first and second prizes. Project ‘Life’ honored all winners and provide certificate.

Project ‘Life’ also held online Yoga Session on ‘Yoga for Holistic Wellbeing’ for staff members of Govt. Engineering College, Rajkot and Sarovar Portico, Rajkot to create health awareness among their staff members. Ms. Sejal Darji, Ms. Meetal May and Ms. Hetal Khetani conducted the online session and motivate them to practice Yoga on daily basis.

The School of Yoga and Research Center organizes gamut of events to celebrate IDY

The School of Yoga and Research Center is the Associate Centre of IYA.

The School of Yoga and Research Center conducted online Common Yoga Protocol for students and staff at Chandrashekhar Agashe College of Physical Education, University of Pune. The Centre organised a webinar with Pravara Nagar Medical College, University of Pune and even Mumbai University.

A special child Yogasana competition was also held. The School of Yoga and Research Center held an online class for Vietnamese students. Shuddhikrias sessions were also organized. Yoga protocol videos for college students were made.

Begumpur Art and Culture society organizes Yoga session

Begumpur Art and Culture Society is the Associate Centre of IYA. Begumpur Art and Culture Society observed 6th International Day of Yoga with yoga sessions to spread awareness about the benefits of the science.

GIHS promotes yoga nationally and internationally

GIHS is the Associate Centre of IYA. Global Institute of Yogic Health & Education, Jodhpur in association with Young Indians, Jaipur Chapter held an online yoga session reaching to almost 42000 people nationally and internationally, with people participating from Dubai, Philippines, Singapore and Australia. The session was shared for more than 600 times.

The Institute also ran a series of small videos on social media platforms explaining each asana of the Common Yoga Protocol till June 20, 2020 so that people may be aware of the entire CYP.

As many as 5 Sessions of Ayurveda for Better Life Series focusing on Diet, Nutrition, Lifestyle and Immunity by senior Ayurvedacharya Dr Mahendra Kachhwaha.

Facebook Live Session is being held every Sunday for the entire lockdown period, focusing on different problems people have been facing during lockdown (Immunity, Mental Health, Digestion, Spinal Health, Total Body Fitness, Yoga for Senior Citizen – Chair Yoga) with a collective reach of more than 100000 people.

Global Yogasana Championship at AIISM on IDY

AIISM is the Associate Centre of IYA. Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine (AIISM) at Amity University, Noida celebrated International Day of Yoga in association with Ministry of AYUSH, Indian Pharmacy Graduate’s Association (IPGA) and International Yogasana Sports Federation (IYSF) by organising different volunteer webinars, yoga practice sessions and Global Yogasana Championship to mark the celebrations of 6th IDY.

Synchronising with Ministry of AYUSH, AIISM oganised practice session of common yoga protocol with certified Yoga trainers and experts. Dr. Neha Jainer conducted a session on common yoga protocol after which Dr.D.D. Vichitra also performed asanas to give an insight into the benefits of yoga. The day concluded with a Valedictory Function at 4 p.m where Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, ASTIF, Amity Noida, Prof.B.C. Das, Dean-Health & Allied Sciences, Amity Noida, Shri Atul Nasa, Controlling

Authority, Drugs Control Department, Delhi and Shri Dr. Jaideep Arya, Joint Secretary of Indian Yoga Association were speakers. Dr. S.K. Rajput, Director, AIISM also marked his presence. Awards distribution ceremony was also held. Dr. Neel Mani Tripathi, Dr. Shruti Chopra from Amity Institute of Pharmacy and Dr. Vinamra Sharma were also present during the ceremony. Dr. Swati Madan, Asst. Director, AIISM presented the Vote of Thanks.

As part of celebration of International Day of Yoga, 1st Webinar was held from June 6-21, 2020. In total 12 events were organized to celebrate IDY-2020. In the series of webinar, a webinar on Inner Peace Through Yoga Meditation (with experiential session) was held on June 20, 2020 where Guru Swami Smaranananda Giri, President, Yogoda Satsanga Society of India delivered a lecture and enlightened the viewers.

Namo Gange Trust connects with people through Social Media

Namo Gange Trust is the Associate Centre of IYA. Namo Gange Trust organized an online Yoga session and connected with around 500 people across the country on the 6th International Day of Yoga. Along with this, a Yoga session was held at Yogshala centres as well as Head office of Namo Gange Trust keeping in mind the protocols of Yoga and social distancing which is highly recommended during this pandemic.
