Amrita Yoga – Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Led by our Chancellor Amma , University staff, students, alumni and others have joined all at Amritapuri Ashram to perform Yoga all together as part of the #YogaDay celebrations.

All #University #campuses have commenced and celebrated International Yoga Day celebrations. #Yoga is offered as part of extracurricular and co-curricular activities since the inception of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Dr. Manoj P, the campus director, addressed students and staff on the relevance of Yoga in the present world. Dr. Sriram Devanathan, Principal, Amrita School of Engineering, #Bengaluru campus addressed the gathering on the importance of #Yoga in our life. Prof. Manish Rajan Walvekar, the Amrita Darshanam Coordinator, delivered a speech on ‘Yoga is reflected in the Bhagavad Gita.’ Prof. Raghavendra Ravi Kiran K., Mechanical Engineering, and our students B. Mohaneeshwar Reddy and Addanki Riya Sai demonstrated Yoga asanas effortlessly. Prizes were distributed to the Yoga competition winners. Yoga Instructor, Mr. Pavan Kumar, proposed a vote of thanks and instructed the basic Yoga practices of the gathered participants.

Isha Foundation

The 8th International Yoga Day with the theme of ‘Yoga for Humanity’ was celebrated at various places across the district on Tuesday.

A total of 500 people, including college students and volunteers, practised yoga and breathing exercises at an event organised by the Isha Foundation at Codissia grounds. Jaggi Vasudev, founder of Isha Foundation, said, “Yoga means unity. Yoga is common for all, irrespective of religious and cultural differences.”

International Yoga Day 2022, Yog Guru Ramdev on June 21 performed yoga at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar. Children and many other people also attended the event. The theme of the International Yoga Day 2022 is ‘Yoga for Humanity’. Yoga day will be celebrated at 75 iconic locations across the country.

Samutkarsh Academy of Yoga, Meditation And Holistic Living

On 21st June 2022, on the auspicious occasion of Eighth International Yoga Day, two yoga practice programs in the morning and evening were organized free of cost by Samutkarsh Yoga Academy, Ahmedabad.


In the morning session, a general yoga practice program specified by the Government of India was organized from 07.00 to 08.00 in the morning, in which other participants of the society including the regular yoga practitioners of Samutkarsh Academy, whose number was more than 225. The program was attended by the trustee and honorary minister of Samutkarsh Academy, Shri Haresh Bhai Trivedi and all the yoga teachers of the institute. The program was started by Purviben Shah, followed by Dr. Ajay Dubey, the Head of the Yoga Department, in the program, the practice of normal yoga practice was done. During the exercise, Dr. Dubey emphasized on how Yoga will prove to be useful for humanity. At the end of the program, group photographs were taken with everyone and Prasad was also distributed. The program was presided over by Shri Haresh Bhai Trivedi Trustee and Honorary Minister.

Subsequently, as per the instructions of the Indian Yoga Association, a video was made by Samutkarsh Sansthan on Yoga for Humanity in which the statement was given by Dr. Ajay Dubey.

The evening session was organized from 06.00 to 07.00 in which classical Pranayama and meditation training were practiced. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Ajay Dubey. In the workshop, about 75 participants benefited from classical pranayama and meditation training. The program was presided over by Shri Surendra Bhai Patel Kaka, Honorable President of Samutkarsh Trust. Trustee and Honorary Minister Shri Haresh Bhai Trivedi, Secretary of Indian Yoga Association Gujarat Chapter Shri Kamlesh Udasi Ji, Tridandi Swami Hrishikesh Ji Maharaj and more than 300 dignitaries of the city participated in both morning and evening sessions.

IDY-2022 Celebration in S-VYASA Campus was organized and conducted in three different venues for students of all courses, teaching, and nonteaching
staff of S-VYASA and Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital.

One of the venues was Samskriti Bhavan, in which more than 200 teaching, non-teaching staff and students’ of Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College participated and practiced the CYP – IDY program under the supervision of Dr. Vasudeva Vaidya, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Arogyadhama.

The other two venues were Santosha and Mangal Mandir, in which more than 200 and 150 students and staff of S-VYASA participated and practiced the CYP -IDY program under the guidance of Mr. Shaliesh Pradhan, Mr. Dharnesh, Mr. Nixon, Mrs. Simla Nixon, Dr. Pranab, Mrs. Ashwini, and other faculty members.

Overall in charge of all the three venues and programs were Dr. Sony Kumari, Dr. Vikas Rawat,
and Mr. Veeresh.

He felicitated the attendees for their enthusiastic participation. The participants in the program collectively practiced the International Yoga Protocol.

At the end of the practice everyone took a pledge to do regular yoga.

Yoga Vidya Gurukul

8th International Yoga Day was celebrated at in the premises of ancient temple of Shri
Tryambakashwar, Nashik. OUR Institute Yoga Vidya Gurukul was assigned the work of training Yoga\

Protocol in this function. Our teachers carried out the training successfully. The function was
presided and guided by by Honorable State Home Minister Shri. Nityanand ray.

Moreover we are glad to inform that Yoga vidya Gurukul Nashik has conducted yoga protocol presentations on this International Yoga day through our 156 + branches and at at 589 + different places of schools and institutes reaching over 75182 yoga sadhak and civilians through yoga in state of Maharashtra .

Yoga Vidya Niketan

There were 84 programmes on 21st June 2022 in which 8th IDY was celebrated, either organised by Yoga Vidya Niketan (YVN) or in association with YVN. In this 260 teachers of YVN volunteered and 3846 participants took part. Apart from that from 22nd May to 27th June 2022 total 16 programmes were arranged in which 110 YVN teachers were involved and 966 participants took advantage. Thus total 100 events and 4812 participants enjoyed the guidance of 370 YVN teachers.

We had 37 Online Summer Course Centers in the month of May 2022, all these practiced CYP on 21st June under the guidance of their respective team of teachers. Our physical as well as online Regular centers also practiced CYP in their respective classes. Apart from that many Schools, Colleges and Corporate bodies organized the programs in association with YVN, either practiced CYP under the guidance of our teachers or organized Lectures/Workshops of our expert teachers.

In the month of June 7 Online Workshops and 6 more Workshops on hybrid mode were arranged on topics like Shuddhi kriya, Sooryanamaskar, Pranayam, Meditation, Shankhaparakshalan and PCOD. Prior to that on 22nd May 2022, YVN organized half day Yogotsav program under 30 days count down to IDY, in association with MDIY, Delhi; in which 350 participants physically took advantage at Vashi, Navi Mumbai and many more online live stream. Apart from that, after two years gap of pandemic, ‘Happy Street’ program was arranged on Palm Beach road of Navi Mumbai by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and Traffic Police Navi Mumbai in association with local MLA Mrs. Manda Mhatre sponsored by Times of India group, on Sundays 5th and 12th June 2022, which promoted Yoga preaching along with other fun activities like skating, zumba, dance, sketches etc. Yoga Vidya Niketans counter was widely appreciated by many, our teachers taught CYP and other Yoga practices in the three hours span.
