23rd Executive Council Meet held Online 

The Executive Council of Indian Yoga Association came together once again for the 23rd time on April 12, 2021. It is always a very pleasant sight to see the stalwarts of Yoga on one screen. In these difficult times, IYA had been extensively working to take yoga to every corner and hence there was a lot in the kitty to discuss.

After the greetings and opening prayer all dived into the intense discussions about promotion and propaga­tion of Yoga.

The meeting that started at 11 am was chaired by Guruji Dr HR Nagendra, President, IYA. Others who marked their presence from the Executive Council of the association included Smt Kamlesh Barwal, Secretary General, Dr R Nagarathna Didi, Director, Standing Research Committee, Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director, Standing Publicity, Publication & P.R. Committee, Shri Subodh Tiwari, Vice Presi­dent, Dr Jaideep Arya, Joint Secretary, IYA, Dr Ram Kumar Rathi, Director, Standing Finance Commit­tee, Shri Ravi Tumuluri, Joint Secretary, IYA, Shri Haresh Trivedi, Director, Standing Legal & Stan­dards Committee, Shri PC Kapoor, Treasurer and Dr Sunanda Rathi, Chiranjiv Foundation.

The meeting commenced with confirming the minutes of 22nd Executive Council Meeting held on January 30, 2021. Thereafter, it was decided to finalise the Concept Note on Yoga as soon as possible as Indian Yoga Association is the nodal as­sociation promoting the ancient science. Dr Jaideep Arya suggested to create a note that would widen the scope of inclusion for the institutions or indi­viduals who would want to join IYA Family.

The EC members also agreed upon adding Manipur and Tripura as the State Chapters of the association. Everybody was also informed that for the upcom­ing International Day of Yoga, a pre-recorded fif­teen-minute discourse will be relayed continuously from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m by IYA to highlight the event and utilize the opportunity to increase awareness of its uniqueness and togetherness.

Towards the end of the meeting, Shri Ravi Tumuluri highlighted that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Uni­versity, (A Central University) Lucknow will be organising Foundation Course in Yoga with IYA and with the support of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. Further, the examinations for the university would be conducted by IYA professionals.

Discussions were also held to organise Governing Council meeting soon.
