Karnataka SCC Convenes its First Meeting 

The first meeting of the IYA Karnataka State Chapter was held on 24th April 2020 over a zoom powered e-meeting in compliance with the requirements of social distancing during lockdown.

The meeting was chaired by Shri Swami Suryapada Ji, Chairperson and lead by Shri Bhawar Lal Arya Ji, Secretary.

The spirit of unity which is the essence of Yoga was evident by the manner in which the event was conducted. It started off with heartfelt welcome from the Chairperson to all. This was followed
by by Guruji Dr. H. R. Nagendra elucidating the challenges facing us due to COVID-19 and the larger responsibilities we all have in this context.

Thereafter, the meeting saw Shri Ravi Tumuluri ji, Regional Coordinator, South Region laying down the agenda along with Secretary SCC. Later on, various aspects related to the growth of IYA in Karnataka were taken up: increasing membership, setting up protocols for accrediting various programs, increasing awareness of IYA and its objectives through digital means, working on certain unique programs that would be the amalgamation of the unique strengths of various member organization and also some other administrative matters.

This being the first meeting, work was offered to all committee members and all present were requested to take ownership of their work areas. In conclusion the event was held at a time when the world needs yoga the most and all the participants felt that the IYA foundation could be blessing to disseminate the benefits of yoga all over the state. The event ended with chanting of the Shanti Sutra which quite summarised the mood of the event.
