State Chapter Committee Meetings – February 2022 

J&K UT Chapter Committee meets virtually

Jammu & Kashmir UT Chapter Committee met online on January 18, 2022. The meeting was chaired and addressed by SCC Chairman Dr Shreyansh Jain. It was decided to hold a massive campaign on enrollments for 75 crore Surya Namskar on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Shri Adarsh Sharma from Heartfulness Meditation was appointed as e-registeration Head to facilitate different institutions in enrolling their names for the initiative. Members also decided to register individually along with their respective institutions to perform Surya Namaskar for the event.

In the meeting, Shri Bansi Lal, Secretary proposed to review certain changes in the designations of few members and corrections to be done in the members list submitted to the Headquarters, IYA. A separate note will be issued on these corrections by the Secretary and forward to Head Office IYA to get the rectifications done on priority.

The house again took a common decision to hold such online meetings at least once in a month and the core committee meeting at least once in a fortnight. Another decision regarding Membership drive was taken and all agreed to develop membership on war footing.
Er. Anil Swaraj proposed that at least one event in regard to promotion of yoga innovated by every member should come forward so that IYA activities can be geared up. Members also decided to celebrate Republic day with Surya Namskar on online platform. The meeting was attended by Shri Purshotam Pathania , Smt Prabha slathia, Smt Sujata Sathu, Shri Lal Singh Nag, Shri Raj Guru Kalsotra, Shri Abhinaadan Jain, Smt Sudha Chander, Smt Mannika Rajput and Shri Adarsh Sharma.

Gujarat SCC organizes monthly meet

Gujarat State Chapter Committee held its meeting on January 29, 2022. The agenda for the meeting included overview of the program conducted on Foundation Day, planning of forthcoming programs/ events, membership drive, opening of account in other bank, execution of research activities and exploring the possibilities of different courses in collaboration with education institutions.

Discussions were also held about inviting all team members for 1-minute videos, starting preparations for International Yoga Day, developing economic, social, institutional, government resources, etc. To speed up the membership drive it was decided to create short videos that come on top of the social media page.

It was decided that research should keep going, so a platform can be created to collect and share the authentic research that is already happening around globally specially those which are happening at Gujarat level and compile it.

It was also planned to create education modules as tie-up with other institutions and universities and to create a list of institutes that are interested in these kind of activities in our large member group. It was decided to meet on February 13, 2022 at Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad.

Assam SCC meets online

The Assam State Chapter Committee of Indian Yoga Association held an online meeting on Google meet on January 26, 2022. The meeting saw the presence of Dr Ujjwal Arun Maske, Smt Mausami Borpuzary Sharma, Dr Doni, Dr Hiren Nath, Shri Sumant, Sri Subhabrata Mukherjee, Shri Phukan, Smt Lily.

During the meeting an online workshop on Mental Health and Stress Management was planned on February 4, 2022 from 4pm-5pm. Every member accepted the proposal and showed their support.

In the meeting, Dr. Ujjwal Maske pointed out that Assam SCC has completed its 2 years and certain changes needs to be made and communicate with inactive members. It was decided that Smt Mausami Borpuzary Sharma will convene the next meeting to reform the Assam SCC.
