IYA organizes International Yoga E- Conclave 

With the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a substantial increase in anxiety, depression, and loneliness. In such times, Yoga can prove to be one of the most effective remedies to fight and protect ourselves. Considering all these above factors Indian Yoga Association in collaboration with Youthnews.Online organized an International E-Yoga Conclave on May 24, 2020.

Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji, Member, Governing Council was the chief guest while Guruji Dr HR Nagen­dra, President, IYA, Prof Vinay Pathak ji, Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Ka­lam Technical University (UPTU) and Mr. Dinesh Pratap Singh, Chairman, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Bharat Sarkar were the guest of honour.

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati ji, Honor­ary Director, Standing Publicity, Publi­cation & P.R. Committe also marked her presence for the inauguration.

Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji opened the ceremony with elaborating the benefits of yoga. He stated that Yoga is not what you do, Yoga is what you are. In his address, he also mentioned that yoga is an amazing gift to our society and Corona can’t simply take that away from all of us.

As a keynote speaker and Guest of Honour, Guruji Dr HR Nagendra spoke about the dimensions of the fast changing modern society and the challenges faced in the form of stress. He also elucidated about the work being done to check diabetes and the re­searches being carried out for diabetic patients.


Knowledge should be AATMANIRBHAR, was the message given by Prof Vinay Pathak ji who expressed his desire to work in collaboration with IYA. Later Mr. Dinesh Pratap Singh appealed ev­eryone to incorporate yoga practices in our lifestyle as it is the art of Living.

The event was organized keeping in mind various factors associated with the society. Among many, one of the major factors is women health. Smt. Kamlesh Barwal ji talked at length about yoga for women health. She explained how yoga comes naturally to women as they are the multitasker. Giv­ing it a divine touch, Nandini Tripathi ji made audi­ence meditate in the serene environment along with the blessings of mesmeric Ganga ji. She further explained about the Karma Yoga and how women can follow the path.

The session that was spearheaded by Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhava­nani focused on youth, where he discussed about problems faced by the youth and how yoga can help to rectify the inner transformation which we see in the form of greed and desires. He also elucidated upon the practical tips that can be helpful in getting rid of anxiety and stress.

Taking over the session Ms Antonietta Rozzi informed us that there is no age limit for practicing yoga and children as young as 3 years can start practicing the sci­ence. She also gave tips to cope up with the stress and anxiety during the pandemic. She also praised the efforts made to make the event successful and positively using technology to spread the awareness about Yoga.

Shri Subodh Tiwari ji when talked about corporate life expressed his views on the unstable environment created due to the pandemic in corporates. He suggested corpo­rates should inculcate the practice of well-being, promote the practice of yoga in the corporate through “Y-Break” concept and make it a part of their life as well.

Outlining the importance of love and compassion, Dr Ishwar Bhard­waj explained the relevance of staying together. He also illustrated the details about adhijivyadhi, adhibhautik , adhiyatmik and Tray­ataap (Dukh) while explaining the effects and side-effects of wrong positions while performing asanas.
One of the topics that are of ex­treme relevance in today’s times is Myths of Yoga.

Shri Vishwas Mandlik ji mentioned how teachers with less or no knowledge are teaching yoga, which should be strongly discouraged. He also talked about the Myths and Truths that surrounds the yogic science.
The International E-Conclave also witnessed a panel dis­cussion on the research prac­tices on patients and Hathyogic Practices. Dr Vineeta Ketkar, Dr Ulka Natu and Dr Charu Shrama were the panelists. The panel discussion was followed by a session on meditation where Rajyogini Binny Sareen ji gave a practical session on guided meditation and informed everybody about the experi­ences she had attained through the practice of Meditation.

Towards the end, Dr SP Mishra ji elucidated upon the concept of training and retraining of the mind. He also explained how one should balance the inner as well as the outer world which lies within us. He also spoke about how meditation helps in training the mind. In continua­tion, Dr BR Sharma explained about meditation and its effect on human thinking and mind.

Shri Ravi Tumulri ji graced the event with his presence and also supported the organizing team with his ideas and expertise. He also talked about the formation and various projects being undertaken by IYA. The event was a tremen­dous success as it witnessed a viewership of 17000 on Zoom and social media platforms like Facebook, setting a benchmark for everyone.
