EC Members meet to discuss IYA Standing Committees 

Technology no doubt has minimalised distances in this era of social distancing. The members of Executive Council of Indian Yoga Association sitting in different states and cities of the country came together via Zoom Video Conferencing on May 4, 2020 at 6:30 pm.

The online meeting was attended by Guruji Dr HR Nagendra, President, Dr SP Mishra, Vice President, Shri Subodh Tiwari, Vice President, Smt Kamlesh Barwal, Secretary General, Shri PC Kapoor, Treasurer, Shri Ram Kumar Rathi, Director, Standing Finance Committee, Dr R Nagarathna, Director, Standing Research Committee, Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director, Standing Publicity, Publication and PR Committee, Shri Ravi Tumuluri, Joint Secretary, Dr Sunanda Rathi, Member Convenor, Standing Finance Committee, Smt Divya Kanchibhotla, Special Invitee, Shri Ravi Tumuluri, Joint Secretary and Smt Thrushal Sunman, Chief Office Admin, IYA.

The meeting majorly discussed activation of Standing Committees especially Standing Research Committee and how can IYA take up the Rashtra-Seva of a national level research on Yoga and its intervention in this new world of COVID-19.

The appointment of Smt. Divya Kanchibhotla as the Working Director, Standing Research Committee and Smt. Ekta Bouderlique as the Working Director for Standing Publicity, Publication and PR Committee was taken up. As the Working Director, Smt. Divya would be responsible for activation of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) and the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of the Association, while Smt. Ekta shall contribute on the Publicity of IYA.

Towards the end, an intense discussion on Corona Health Awareness Scale (CHAS), which was earlier known as Behaviour Assessment Scale (BAS) was held. After a presentation by Dr R Nagarathna Didi, Guruji Dr HR Nagendra informed everybody present that S-VYASA wants to involve all IYA institutions in the project CHAS. The meeting concluded with Secretary General suggesting that the project will have to be discussed at the EC, GC and the GB levels.

The follow-up was held on May 20, 2020.
