Maharashtra SCC meets at Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute 

The first meeting of the newly formed Maharashtra State Chapter Committee of the Indian Yoga Association was held on 22nd October 2024 at Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute. The meeting was successfully conducted under the leadership of Chairman Shri Samprasad Vinodji, with valuable guidance from Shri Subodh Tiwari ji, Secretary General, IYA.

The session began with the introduction of all the committee members. Chairman Shri Samprasad Vinodji set the tone of the meeting with insightful guidance on the yogic direction, while Shri Subodh Tiwari ji shared the background and history of IYA, highlighting the national and Maharashtra chapters, their composition, and the various courses and initiatives offered.
A key discussion was the planning of the Yearly Seminar/Symposium for the Maharashtra Chapter. Shri Sabir Shaikh ji emphasized the importance of incorporating activities that would enhance the engagement of chapter members. The following key decisions were made during the meeting:

  1. The tentative date for the seminar was set for Saturday, 22nd February 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
  2. The venue for the seminar was proposed to be Watumal Auditorium, K C College, Churchgate, Mumbai, with a capacity of 500 people. Shri Subodh Tiwari ji kindly offered to facilitate the booking of the venue.
  3. The committee decided to organize three-hour introductory sessions in major cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, and Kolhapur to engage around 100-125 current and prospective members. The dates for these sessions will be finalized by 15th November 2024.
  4. The introductory sessions will focus on introducing IYA’s activities and courses to members and encouraging new memberships. A 2-hour training session will be included, with the subject and presenter to be determined later.
  5. A request will be made to the Central Committee to add new Executive Committee members to the relevant volunteer and professional member groups, granting them admin rights.
  6. The groups will be informed about the upcoming seminar, and suggestions and ideas for the event will be sought from members.
  7. Invitations will be sent to members for the introductory sessions in their respective cities, including all necessary details and communication.

The meeting concluded with the active participation of all members, including IYA Secretary General Shri Subodh Tiwari, Chairman Dr. Samprasad Vinod, and other key members such as Shri Vinod Joshi (Sr. Chairperson), Shri Kartik Vyas (Vice Chairperson), Shri Rajanish Sharma (Treasurer), Shri Nitin Patki (Secretary), Shri Sabir Shaikh (Convenor, Academic), Ms. Jyoti Keswani (Convenor, Research), and Shri Dilip Dauneria (Kaivalyadham host).

The committee remains committed to furthering the mission of IYA and creating meaningful opportunities for yoga practitioners in Maharashtra.
