Corona pandemic may have slowed down the pace of world but with the increasing faith in Yoga, the responsibility of IYA has increased multifold. To discuss the actions taken and work done after the 20th EC Meeting held in April 2020, the Executive Council of IYA met online via Zoom on September 5, 2020 at 12 noon.
The meeting was attended by Guruji Dr HR Nagendra, President, Dr Nagarathna didi, Director, Standing Research Committee, Maa Dr. Hansaji Yogendra, Senior Vice President, Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director, Standing Publicity, Publication & P.R. Committee, Shri Subodh Tiwari, Vice President, Smt.Kamlesh Barwal, Secretary General, Dr SP Mishra, Vice President & CEO, PrCB, Dr.Jaideep Arya, Joint Secretary, Shri Ravi Tumuluri, Joint Secretary, Shri Harsh Trivedi, Director, Standing Legal & Standards Committee, Shri Ram Kumar Rathi, Director, Standing Finance Committee, Shri PC Kapoor, Treasurer, and Dr Sunanda Rathi. From the IYA Secretariat Smt.Thrushal Sunman and Smt.Shruti Prabhakar were also present for the meeting.
The 21st EC Meeting which went on for more than 2 hours witnessed intense discussions on the ongoing activities in IYA. IT solutions for the Association were talked about. Shri Ravi Tumuluri informed everybody present that the first full batch of Master Trainers has been announced and with the number of applications received, IYA is looking forward to two more batches.
EC members were also informed about the training session held by for Healthcare Skill Sector Council (HSSC) for the Associate Centers of IYA to help them out with the process of empanelment.
It was decided to speed up the submission of amended R&R to the Registrar of Societies. The names of three nominees to represent IYA at the Bureau of Indian Standards were zeroed in. The IYA certification given by the Associate Centers were also discussed in detail. It was also decided to request AYUSH Ministry to exempt Yoga from GST.
