On September 1, 2024, Vedic Kaya Sadhana, an Associate Centre of the Indian Yoga Association, organized a comprehensive awareness session focused on gynecological health, hygiene, and cervical cancer prevention for women’s health. This session aimed to empower women with essential knowledge about maintaining reproductive health and understanding the importance of early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, one of the most common cancers affecting women globally.
Led by Dr. Nivedita Das, a renowned expert in women’s health, the session covered key topics including menstrual hygiene, symptoms of gynecological disorders, preventive measures against infections, and the importance of regular screenings like Pap smears and HPV vaccinations. Dr. Das also addressed common misconceptions and provided practical advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to support reproductive well-being.
The event was open to all, free of charge, and offered both online and on-site attendance options to ensure maximum outreach. Women from diverse backgrounds participated actively, raising questions and sharing their concerns, which were addressed by Dr. Das with compassion and clarity.
In addition to raising awareness about cervical cancer prevention, the session emphasized the need for regular check-ups and self-care practices. The initiative was well-received by the community, reinforcing Vedic Kaya Sadhana’s commitment to promoting holistic health and wellness for women through education and preventive care.
