Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga Centre (SKWC), Associate Centre, IYA, celebrated International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2024 with grand events both at the centre and at Malleshwaram Ground.
Founder and Director, Ms. Mimi Partha Sarathy, along with senior yoga teachers Mr. Dinesh Chengappa, Mr. Shyam Ahir, Mrs. Dakshayani, and others, led the celebrations. The day featured free yoga classes for all, allowing students and yoga enthusiasts to experience the benefits of yoga. Attendees were also provided with breakfast, snack boxes, and T-shirts as part of the celebration.
Simultaneously, a large-scale celebration took place at Malleshwaram Ground, where over 3,000 government school children participated. The event began with prayers to Sage Patanjali and revered yoga teachers from the Krishnamacharya tradition, led by Ms. Mimi Partha Sarathy and attended by MLA Dr. Ashwath Narayan. Both Ms. Sarathy and Dr. Narayan joined the children in practicing yoga, with Ms. Dakshayani and other senior teachers leading the common yoga protocol. Breakfast and T-shirts were distributed to all participants.
Additionally, SKWC organized the successful YOGANJALI 2024 event, where Ms. Mimi Partha Sarathy and Mrs. Nritya Jagannathan, Director of Studies at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM), highlighted the renowned KYM SKWC Yoga Teacher Training Program. The sixth batch of the program officially commenced on July 13, 2024.
