Is IYA the torch-bearer for Yoga?

by Shri Ravi Tumuluri, Joint Secretary, IYA

The Governing Council is the policy-making body of the Association. It includes Gurus who have dedicated their lives for the cause of yoga!

The General Body includes all the Yoga Organisations of the country, all traditions, lineages of yoga!

We have individuals that include Eminent Yoga Acharyas, Life Members, Professional Members, Volunteer Members!

We also have Vice Chancellors of Five Universities with Departments of Yoga!

More or less, a complete cross-section of yoga is included and involved in IYA!

But is IYA relevant to the seeker?

A seeker or a learner starts by searching! In today’s context ‘SEARCH’ has become synonymous to ‘GOOGLE’ – some even call it ‘Google Baba’!

So, we searched for Chairman, Governing Council, Yogrishi Swami Ramdev ji Maharaj
And for President, Guruji Dr HR Nagendra

Then we searched for ‘Course in Yoga’

‘Certificate Course in Yoga’, ‘Foundation Course in Yoga’, Advance Certificate in Yoga’ and many more terms relevant to the IYA policies that are projected on its website rank highly on ‘GOOGLE’! You may try to find yourself on Google listing of IYA pages. If you are a member!

Basic research will show that this performance is not mere optimization for search engines. Google works on Artificial Intelligence-based (AI) codes or sutras at a machine level! As you maybe aware, AI is being used to show future trends of various activities and is much akin to human intelligence, intuition and consciousness! So, the obvious conclusion is that the rankings are due to the actual strength of IYA – the strength of Unity in Diversity of Yoga Traditions!
