The Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA-Kolkata), an associate center of the Indian Yoga Association, was invited to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University for their annual induction program aimed at fostering awareness, education, and harmony among newly admitted students. This year’s program runs from October 18 to November 1, with VYASA’s yoga sessions conducted from October 20 to October 23.
The yoga sessions, held twice daily—morning (6:30 AM to 8:00 AM) and afternoon (2:30 PM to 4:00 PM)—combined practical and theoretical aspects of yoga and sports. Led by VYASA’s founder Acharya Shri Ashish Kumar Pal and assistant Shri Ghanshyam Chaurasia, the sessions adhered to the principles of Maharishi Patanjali and the guidelines of the Indian Yoga Association.
Each day began with Vedic chants and yoga-related mantras, followed by practices like Sandhi Yoga, Drut Yoga, meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra, and Surya Namaskar. These were integrated with audiovisual aids and practical demonstrations to emphasize their relevance and benefits. Over 400 students actively participated, gaining insights into a holistic approach to health and well-being.
The program also featured interactive Q&A sessions, personal feedback discussions, and exposure to national-level athletes in disciplines such as Malkhamb, kabaddi, lawn tennis, and badminton. Emphasis was placed on the connection between sports, character building, and nation-building. Inspirational themes such as “Health through Yoga,” “Early Rising,” “Sustainable Living,” and “Nation First” resonated throughout the sessions.
