On the occasion of International Yoga Day, EasyYoga Studio’z, Narchinthanaivattam NCV, and Tamil Nadu State Chapter of the Indian Yoga Association hosted a unique online event titled “Yoga with Thirukural Recitation” on April 28, 2024. The event attracted a global audience of yoga enthusiasts, with 166 participants joining from around the world.
The program was spearheaded by Ms. T Valli, Director and Founder of EASYYOGA STUDIO’Z, whose dedication was instrumental in bringing this event to fruition. The esteemed judges for the evening included Professor Dr. R. Elangovan, Secretary of the Indian Yoga Association Tamil Nadu State Chapter, and Mr. Balan, Founder of NCV. Their presence and insights greatly enriched the event.
The event received an overwhelming response, with 30 video entries from across the globe, including locations such as Sydney, Texas, Pakistan, Muscat, Dubai, Singapore, Atlanta, and the Philippines. Additionally, 20 videos were submitted from various cities in India, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. A total of 216 participants performed asanas while reciting Thirukural, showcasing their skill and enthusiasm.
The competition was marked by its energetic and competitive spirit. Participants demonstrated impressive yoga postures and recited Thirukural with remarkable accuracy. The event not only highlighted the integration of ancient philosophy with modern practice but also boosted the confidence and self-esteem of the participants.
