The meeting started with Shanti Path. It was opened by the Secretary General, Shri Subodh Tiwari on behalf of the President, who then invited the Chairperson of the meeting, Maa Dr Hansaji Yogendra, President, IYA, to make the opening remarks.
The President Maa Dr Hansaji Yogendra ji in her opening remarks expressed her happiness on the presence of so many yogis and added it is when we meet that anything good will emerge, that we can expect great progress from such meetings, that we can do great many things. But she expressed disappointment at the lack of participation of different institutions and it is very important that all institutions participate.

She stressed that we all should bring IYA to the limelight and we should become the reference point for Yoga. She explained that this is when the ‘true’ concept of Yoga will be reflected and how Yoga can be furthered.

She added that each individual is doing what they feel is Yoga in their own way and if we are not having the feeling of ‘oneness’ within ourselves then the direction we take in future will not be correct. She said that we should see that we participate in everything.

Talking about the 8th International Day of Yoga she urged all to think collectively. She suggested that we come up with some topics as some institutions may work on a same topic, either by choice or we choose a topic for you, but we should be working together.

Thereafter, she handed over the meeting to Shri Subodh Tiwari to table the agenda. Among the minutes of the 25th Meeting of Executive Council of IYA held on March 28, 2022 that were ratified, 8th International Day of Yoga, concept note of yoga, standing committees and others were discussed in detail.
