In one-of-its-kind of initiative Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth(SBV) organized YUVA YOGA SANGAMAM 2020 on January 13, 2020. The first ever mass yoga demonstration on the occasion of National Youth Day 2020 saw hundreds of medical, dental, nursing and allied health science students in Yoga coming together to channelize Youth Power for Nation Building at a unique event. The Sangamam was held at the University Campus in Pillaiyarkuppam, Pondicherry in commemoration of Swami Vivekananda 157th Jayanthi celebration.
Prof. Subhash Chandra Parija, Vice Chancellor, SBV was the chief guest. The event was graced by Prof. AR Srinivasan, Registrar, SBV, Shri MK Rajagopalan, Chancellor, SBV and Prof. Carounanidy Usha, Director-Accreditation and SBV Co-ordinator– IQAC. Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director, Standing Publicity, Publication & P.R. Committee, Indian Yoga Association and Dr.Meena Ramanathan, Deputy Director, CYTER were also present.
The one-of-its-kind of event was coordinated by the Centre for Yoga Therapy Education and Research (CYTER) of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth in association with the Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC), International Centre for Yoga Education & Research (ICYER), Pondicherry Yogasana Association(PYA) and Indian Yoga Association(IYA).
