Swaraj Yoga Institute & Wellness Retreats, Associate Centre of the Indian Yoga Association successfully hosted a graduation ceremony for its Certificate Course in Yoga (CCY-IYA) on December 18, 2024. Organized in association with the Indian Yoga Association (IYA), the event marked the culmination of a 27-day Hatha Yoga Certificate Course, providing students with internationally recognized credentials.
The ceremony celebrated the achievements of graduates from diverse backgrounds who completed the 200-hour intensive program, equipping them with the skills to promote wellness and mindfulness in their communities. Dual certification from IYA enhanced the credibility of the course, making it a globally recognized qualification.
Family members, friends, and mentors gathered to honor the students’ dedication. Certificates were presented by Shri Anil Swaraj, Founder of Swaraj Yoga Institute and lead mentor of the program, alongside Dr. Shreyansh Jain, Chairman of IYA (UT-J&K Chapter). The event featured chanting of Vedic mantras and a closing meditation led by Sanjeev Pandey, adding a spiritual touch to the proceedings.

“Watching these individuals evolve into confident instructors is truly inspiring,” remarked Dr. Shreyansh Jain. Ashok Gupta, Vice President of IYA (UT-J&K), emphasized the growing demand for certified yoga professionals in the region, highlighting the vital role such programs play in bridging the gap.
The newly certified yoga teachers include Ms Purvie Gupta, Shri Vikas Kumar, Shri Rakesh Verma, Shri Balwinder Kumar, Shri Abishak Sharma, Ms Aaina Bairagi, Ms Taniya Kaith, Ms Gurleen Kaur, and Shri Surjit Singh. Each graduate shared their personal transformation through yoga, detailing its impact on their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
