Indian Yoga Association J&K Chapter meets Virtually 

Indian Yoga Association J&K Chapter meets Virtually

The Jammu and Kashmir UT Chapter Committee of IYA was held on Google Meet on August 23, 2020 at 4 pm. The meeting was held to discuss the steps and initiatives taken by the Chapter to promote yoga as main activity of IYA.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Jaideep Arya ji, Joint Secretary, IYA and Regional Coordinator, North Region, IYA. Members of the Jammu and Kashmir UT Chapter who marked their presence included Dr Shreyansh Kumar Jain, Chairperson, Dr. D.L Choudhary, Vice Chairperson Shri Parshotam Pathania, Vice Chairperson, Shri Bansi Lal Sharma, Secretary, Smt. Sudha Chandar Sharma, Joint Sec­retary, Shri Raj Guru, Joint Secretary, Shri Dev Yog Raj Goshwami, Member, Shri Anil Gupta, Mem­ber, and Smt. Veenakshi Bhatt, Member, Shri Prem Gupta, Member and Shri Lal Singh Nag, Member. Smt.Sudha Rana, Treasurer, Chandigarh UT Chapter Committee was also present.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting to hold an online yoga competition entitled ‘My Yoga My Healthy Life’ in September for different age groups with categories like Male, Female, under-12, un­der-18, professional and Senior Citizen etc. for yoga lovers of the Union Territory. E-Certificate shall be given to all participants along with special awards to top three winners in each category.

It was also decided in the meeting to hold a webinar for on September 5, 2020 entitled ‘Sampooran Swast­hay Ke Liye- Ashtang Yog’ in which yoga experts of national repute will address the audience.

During the online meeting, discussions were also held about revival of office bearers and steps to be taken in the future to strengthen the aims and objects of IYA. Personal Sadhna of each office bearer was also stressed upon.
