Gujarat SCC strategizes for upcoming Months

The Gujarat State Chapter Committee of IYA met on March 7, 2021 at Heartfulness Centre, Adalaj, Ahmed­abad to discuss and strategize for the upcoming 2021 events.

The meeting was attended by Acharya Birju Maharaj, Chairman, Gujarat Chapter, Smt. Meetal Kotecha Shah, Vice Chairperson, Shri Shailesh Rathod, Joint Secretary, Shri Kamlesh Udasi, Secretary, Shri Vi­kram Mistry, Joint Secretary, Shri Bhakti Shah, Joint Secretary, Smt. Hinal Thakkar, Member, Smt. Mauli Baviskar, Member, Smt. Niyati Bhavsar, Member, Shri Kejalbhai Kansara, Shri Rajeev Mishra, Shri Harish Shukla, Treasurer, Shri Girijesh Sharma and Smt. Meetaben Shah.

The meeting saw budget for 2021 being discussed. It was also decided that the state chapter would be orga­nizing a Symposium to get yoga practitioners of the state together. Membership drive was also talked about. The committee welcomed new appointed members— Dr. Vijaykumar, Smt. Zeel Patel, Shri Priyank Pan­chal, Shri Mr. Nilay Mehta and Smt. Meeta Shah.

A new standing committee for Education and Research was also formed. Region wise Heads were as well appointed. Shri Shailesh Rathod will head North Gujarat, Shri Kamlesh Udasi will head the Central Gujarat, Smt Meetal Koticha Shah will head Saurashtra and Kutch and Smt. Meeta Shah will head South Gujarat.

J&K SCC added new members to the family!

Jammu & Kashmir State Chapter Committee met on March 28, 2021. The meeting saw new members join­ing the committee.

Smt. Renu Thappar replaced Shri Rajguru as the Joint Secretary. Shri Rajguru was appointed the Vice Presi­dent of the State Chapter. Shri Yogesh Chandra Thapar replaced Shri Prem Gupta and Shri Lal Singh Nag was replaced by Shri Angreji Singh as a Member. Shri Lal Singh Nag was appointed as the Treasurer. Shri Anil Gupta was made the Secretary (Publicity).

Manipur SCC organizes its first Virtual Meet

The first virtual meeting of the Manipur State Chapter Committee members of Indian Yoga Association was held at Haobam Marak Keisham Leikai, Imphal on March 14, 2021 at 8.00 a.m. with Dr. N. Ibohal Singh as host.

The meeting was attended by the members namely Ksh. Gopendra Singh, Dr. N. Nilkamal Singh, Shri Ng. Shomen Singh, Shri R.K. Birendrajit Mangang, Shri N. Ganga Singh, Smt. Poonam and Dr. N. Ibohal Singh.
The points of discussion included International Day of Yoga (IDY), 2021. It was decided to organize a scientific conference on ‘Yoga and Society’ at least one week or a fortnight ahead of the main celebration. Organizing Integrated Yoga Therapy Camp at different Districts of Manipur under the banner of Manipur State Chapter of IYA was discussed upon.

Financial or other supports for organization of various activities by the State Chapter was also talked about. In order to strengthen the State Chapter, the forum decided unanimously that the Committee members should work pro-actively and cohesively to increase the number of life members of IYA for which a well-knit joint effort of all members is the need of the hour. The members also decided to organize yoga therapy camp/institute, yoga classes on regular basis.

Monthly Meetings organised by Rajasthan SCC

The virtual meeting of the Rajasthan State Chapter Committee was held on March 4, 2021 from 5:30-6.00pm. The meeting saw participation from 13 members. The meeting commenced with Dr Swatantra Sharma, Secretary listing down the points of discussion.

Keeping in mind the rising cases of corona, it was decided that state chapter meetings would be held online even in the coming months.

An intense discussion on the possibilities of the events that could be organized on the occasion of IDY 2021 was held. Thereafter, Shri Vinayak Dixit requested everybody to try and make themselves present for the monthly meetings.

It was further proposed that before 14 March, a program should be organized by the Heartfulness Institute which could be attended by everyone. Shri Vinod Pareek, Chairperson thanked everyone for the cooperation and called upon everyone to continue working for the progress of IYA.

The members of the State Chapter met once again during the month virtually in March 28, 2021 at 5pm. In the meeting it was decided to organize a lecture by, Dr. Nagarathna Didi, SVYASA on 11 April 2021. Dr. Purnandu Sharma and Himanshu Paliwal were authorized to determine the outline and schedule of this entire program so that promotional brochures, online links etc. can be arranged and all the member organizations can avail this lecture with their members.

The meeting was as well attended by Shri Ravi Tumuluri, Joint Secretary, IYA. In his address, he shared information about online theory classes and offline practical classes in the Foundation Course in Yoga of­fered by IYA. Describing the outline of this entire program, Shri Ravi Tumuluri said, “This is an occasion when we can fulfill our objective through International Yoga Day. During this entire program, not only Yoga professionals will get the required exposure but they will also get monetary benefits. By this professional training we can also get a large number of volunteer members and increase the number of members of the State Chapter.”
Further, he appreciated the efforts made by the Rajasthan State Chapter to promote yoga. Thereafter, he clarified the doubts of the members.

UP SCC held its third district level meeting

The Uttar Pradesh State Chapter Committee of IYA held its third meeting of the district level in Basti dis­trict on March 7, 2021. The meeting commenced with lighting the lamp by Shri Amar Singh Bhaduria, Sec­retary and Shri Piyush Kant Mishra, Member. Dr. Shakur Alam and Dr. Naveen Singh, Member welcomed the dignitaries.

Shri Amar Singh Bhaduria while highlighting the activities and agenda of IYA, said “A free yoga training workshop on yoga and health will be organized for 2 days in the district.” He stressed on giving a vigorous start to the membership drive.

Shri Piyush Kant Mishra guided the members about the membership drive. Thereafter, Dr. Naveen Singh spoke about the theme of the workshop ‘Art of Yoga and Healthy Life’. Dr. Shakur Alam, Shri Subhash Chandra Arya, and Smt. Sangeeta, District Incharge, Patanjali Yoga Committee also share their views.

The members of the Patanjali Yoga Committee and other organizations present agreed to join IYA and resolved to connect more people to it and motivate people to do yoga. The meeting also saw presence from Shri Saurabh Tulsian, Dr. Shachi Srivastava, Shri Ram Mohan Pal, Shri Ashwini Saini, Mohammad Shakeel Siddiqui, Shri Harish Kumar, Dr. Ananya Srivastava, Smt. Shanno Dubey, Smt. Priyanka Patel, Smt. Saroj Tripathi, Smt. Kamna Pandey, Shri Subhash Chandra Soni, Smt. Neelam, Shri Jitendra Shukla, Shri Harsh Sahni, Smt.Shweta, Shri Prashant, Shri Ashish, Shri Harinarayan, Smt. Lata, Shri Ajay Aditya Narayan Giri, Shri Naval Kishore and others. The program ended with a Shanti mantra by Dr. Shachi Srivastava.

UP SCC Review Meeting held

The Uttar Pradesh State Chapter Committee of IYA on March 25, 2021 held its review meeting online. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Amarjeet Yadav, Chairman and conducted by Shri Amar Singh Bhaduria, Secre­tary.



The meeting also saw the presence of Dr. Jaideep Arya, Joint Secretary, IYA and Regional Coordinator, North Region, IYA. The district level meeting was reviewed. Everybody was informed about the webinars organized in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya and Varanasi divisions in which the number of partici­pants were encouraging.

The importance of publishing an e-magazine as a newsletters was stressed upon. During his address, Dr. Jaideep Arya ji said, “The path of yoga is the path of perfection. All should inevitably adopt yoga for a healthy life.” The detailed framework and action plan was discussed for the upcoming 7th International Yoga Day.

WB SCC meets at VYASA

The West Bengal State Chapter of IYA met physically on March 10, 2021 at VYASA, Kolkata. The agenda for the meeting was to discuss the past activities and future plan.

The meeting was attended by Shri Chandrakant Rathore, Dr. Abhijit Ghosh, Shri Sisir Biswas, Shri Sub­hendu Acharya, Smt. Priti Nandi, Shri Shambhuraj Pandit, Shri Joyhari Jana, Shri Amlan Dutta, Smt. Shital Shayhni and Shri Abhijit Chandra.

Discussions were held about the first IYA courses started at NADIA by Shri Subhendu Acharya. IYA and VYASA conducted one-month free online yoga classes which was attended by 90 people. Few webinars were as well conducted with Viswabharati, Khejuri College and few more.

In the meeting, Shri Pankaj Bhagat was appointed the coordinator for North Bengal. Discussions were held about the first Annual Meet for West Bengal chapter to be held on March 20, 2021.
