Chandigarh UT Committee celebrates yoga, unity, and wellness through a series of meaningful events

Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Sunanda S. Rathi, Founder Director of Chiranjiv Foundation, Associate Centre of Indian Yoga Association and renowned yoga researcher, an immersive eight-day yoga program was conducted for 450 students of MES Garware College of Commerce, Pune. Each 90-minute session skillfully integrated yoga philosophy, historical context, and practical training in asanas and pranayama, empowering students to enhance their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Dr. Rathi, along with her experienced team—Dr. Deepa Lodha, Ms. Maya Chuttar, and Ms. Anuradha Chavhan—guided students through a carefully curated curriculum designed to improve overall health, encourage mindfulness, and promote emotional balance and spiritual awareness. The students practiced a range of asanas across standing, sitting, prone, and supine positions, along with pranayama techniques such as Nadi Shuddhi, Bhastrika, Bramari, and Sitali.

Feedback revealed overwhelming appreciation from the students, many of whom shared that the sessions were transformative and sparked a long-term commitment to yoga as a way of life.

The program was made possible with the strong support of Principal Dr. Kishore Desarada and faculty members Mr. Aditya Girme and Mr. Umesh Bibave, whose encouragement ensured active student participation.

Echoing the timeless wisdom of Swami Vivekananda—“Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man”—this initiative awakened young minds to their inner strength, laying the foundation for a healthier, more conscious, and value-driven life.
