Krish Yoga Vidhyaalaya (KYV), an Associate Centre of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA), in collaboration with Ublis Yoga Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, and the Tamil Nadu State Chapter Committee of IYA, organized a special Iyengar Yoga Workshop on 25th May 2025 as part of the Ministry of AYUSH’s signature event “SE4 – Yoga Samavesh,” commemorating the 11th International Day of Yoga.

Hosted at the Ublis Yoga Centre in Chennai, the workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. R. Elangovan, Executive Council Member of IYA, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Conducted in a hybrid format, the session witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 in-person attendees and several online participants, reflecting the growing popularity of precision-based Iyengar Yoga.

Led by Dr. C. Kamatchi, a seasoned yoga practitioner and Life Member of IYA, the workshop offered an immersive experience into over 80 asanas using more than 20 specialized Iyengar props such as chairs, blocks, viparita karani box, setubandasana bench, Halasana box, Vajrasana stool, and Trikonasana triangle tools. A strong emphasis was placed on alignment, breath control, and safety, making the session beneficial and accessible to practitioners of all levels.
The post-lunch session included a deeply calming sound healing meditation followed by another detailed practice session integrating pranayama with supportive aids. All participants received certificates acknowledging their involvement and dedication.

The workshop was a resounding success, not only deepening the participants’ understanding of therapeutic yoga but also reinforcing KYV’s commitment to promoting traditional and holistic wellness practices under the aegis of the Indian Yoga Association.
