The Delhi State Chapter of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA) convened a virtual meeting on May 25, 2025, to review and plan initiatives in the run-up to the 11th International Day of Yoga. Despite a personal bereavement, the Chairman joined briefly to inaugurate the session, expressing gratitude to attendees and highlighting key action points. These included contacting IYA members for collaborative efforts, reaching out to institutions like AIIMS and Delhi University for program hosting, and utilising six identified meditation centres for IDY events.
Chairman Sir encouraged the engagement of at least 15 active members and emphasized the need for yoga professionals to support the initiatives. After his departure, Secretary Dr. Vinod Kashyap took charge and urged members to identify venues with a minimum participation of 20–25 people for early IDY events and to submit event photos promptly. He also shared that ID cards and banner designs were ready for collection and finalisation.
Vice Chairman Shri Parveen updated the team about collaborations in progress — including a major IDY celebration in Vasant Kunj Park with support from the Ministry of Ayush, a program in Dilshad Garden with MCD and Ayurveda CMO Dr. Satyanarayan, and the possibility of conducting a central Delhi program following a meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister. He also proposed a national conclave by the Delhi and UP Chapters in August and volunteered to host a session in Ghaziabad.
Other committee members shared ongoing efforts: Mr. Arjun requested IYA branding support, while Smt Dimpy discussed a yoga event for 15–20 young football players focusing on holistic growth, requesting teacher assistance and e-certificates. She also offered to host an IDY event in her residential society.
The meeting concluded with Dr. Vinod’s vote of thanks and a final call for all members to finalize and share their respective IDY plans within the next five days, as preparations enter a critical phase.
