IYA, INYGMA and CCRYN join hands for CHAS 

Indian Yoga Association, Indian Naturopathy and Yoga Graduates Medical Association (INYGMA) and Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) have joined hands for Corona Health Awareness Scale (CHAS): A study on behaviour patterns and usage of AYUSH systems in COVID-19. The survey aims at obtaining health status of the people during this period of Corona pandemic and the impact of Yoga (as also Gayatri Mantra) and other AYUSH therapies before and after lockdown health status. Anyone can participate in the survey without any age bar, education limitations, economic status, etc.

The target is to get responses from 50 lakhs. The CHAS includes questions from four domains including Physical Health, Mental Health, Coping Strategies and Lifestyle. The design of the project includes following modes of intervention:

  • Yoga intervention for those who are in lockdown
  • Yoga intervention for those who are in quarantine
  • Yoga relaxation for inpatient
  • Yoga for COVID will address:
    – Immune system health
    – Respiratory function
    – Stress/anxiety reduction

The data collected for the survey will be used for research purposes only and the confidentiality of the collected data will be maintained strictly. The Name, Email and Phone fields are optional. The participation remains completely voluntary and will contribute to the knowledge repository that will in turn provide key insights for the world post the current pandemic.

The survey will merely take about 10-15 minutess to complete. For the convenience of the common man, the survey has been translated into several languages— English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Odiya, Malayalam and Marathi. The first phase of CHAS has already been completed and analysis is underway.
