Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar opened the meeting by chanting a mantra. In his address he said, “IYA has big plans of going global with the help all members. About 2.5 billion people, that is about one third of the world population, have taken to yoga with the help of effort by some lakhs of yoga teachers. But our competition is the cell phone which has a reach of SEVEN billion people. We need to take yoga to every home. Especially in these times of COVID, yoga, pranayama and dhyan is the only solution.”
Thereafter, he added that we should more often, at least virtually. We also must think about how we associate with all the various associations and all the yoga institutions around the world. The time has come to claim yoga as our own so that everyone looks to Bharat for is rightfully ours. On this, he asked for some thoughts from all the experienced members. The Indian Yoga Association platform has been created for this purpose and all of you are pillars of yoga.

Shri OP Tiwari said that much need to be done. He said that we should at least meet four times every year. We should all make proposals and try to achieve goals and objectives, and it should be seen that Indian Yoga Association is very active.
