Yoga Samavesh: Puducherry SCC brings healing touch to silver citizens with Yoga Therapy

Under the Signature Event category of “Yoga Samavesh,” the Indian Yoga Association Puducherry Chapter, in collaboration with Help Age India and Tamaraikulam Elders’ Village, Cuddalore, organized a heartwarming awareness program titled “Yoga Therapy for Enhancing Mental Health in Silver Citizens” on June 11, 2025.

Led by Prof. Dr. Meena Ramanathan and her team from the School of Yoga Therapy, Institute of Salutogenesis and Complementary Medicine, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, the session was a part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations. The event focused on promoting holistic well-being and mental resilience among the elderly through therapeutic yoga practices tailored specifically for their needs.

Over 100 senior citizens participated with great enthusiasm, deeply moved by the care and connection they received. Many expressed joy and emotional gratitude, calling for such programs to be held regularly. The initiative not only highlighted the power of yoga in supporting active aging but also left a lasting emotional impact on everyone involved, making it a memorable and soulful experience.
