Chhattisgarh SCC organises Yoga Anatomy workshop in Rishikesh

In an inspiring convergence of science and spirituality, the Chhattisgarh State Chapter Committee of the Indian Yoga Association hosted a dynamic Yoga Anatomy Workshop from March 19 to 21, 2025 in the sacred town of Rishikesh, the global capital of yoga. Led by Prof. (Dr.) Mritunjay Rathore, Professor of Anatomy at AIIMS Raipur and Secretary, IYA Chhattisgarh Chapter, the workshop attracted yoga enthusiasts and professionals from across the globe, including countries like Russia, Hungary, the UK, and Italy.

A key highlight of the workshop was the use of a life-size human skeleton model to demonstrate the anatomical and biomechanical aspects of yoga postures. This hands-on approach allowed participants to simultaneously perform and observe asanas, enhancing their understanding of alignment, flexibility, and neuromuscular awareness.

The workshop offered a unique blend of theoretical anatomy and experiential learning, empowering yoga teachers, students, and healthcare professionals with insights into evidence-informed yoga practice. This initiative marks a significant step in IYA’s mission to blend traditional yogic wisdom with contemporary scientific understanding.

Special thanks were extended to Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, esteemed Governing Council member of IYA, and Ganga Nandini Didi Ji for their support and encouragement in promoting inclusive and authentic yoga education. The event stands as a testament to the potential of yoga as a holistic science that unites body, mind, and knowledge.
