MGYI with TNSCC organises yoga events

In August 2024, the Mahatma Gandhi Yoga Institute, Madurai, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu State Chapter Committee of the Indian Yoga Association, successfully organized a series of enriching yoga events aimed at promoting health and well-being. These programs witnessed enthusiastic participation and highlighted the growing interest in yoga within the community.

On August 11, 2024, a “Theppakkulam Walk” was conducted, with 50 participants actively taking part. This event combined walking and light yoga stretches, providing participants with an opportunity to connect with nature and practice mindfulness in an outdoor setting.
Following this, from August 12, 2024, a two-week yoga practice session was launched, attracting 63 participants. The program focused on enhancing flexibility, strength, and mental clarity through guided yoga sessions that covered various asanas, pranayama, and relaxation techniques.
The month concluded with a three-day yoga family tour to Kanyakumari from August 24 to August 26, 2024. This event saw 50 participants, providing families with an opportunity to bond through yoga, meditation, and other group activities while exploring the scenic beauty of Kanyakumari. The tour encouraged holistic well-being and served as a perfect blend of relaxation, yoga, and cultural exploration.

These events collectively highlighted the Mahatma Gandhi Yoga Institute’s commitment to promoting yoga and creating a sense of community among practitioners across Tamil Nadu.
