Halasana

Halasana or Plow Pose, in Sanskrit, is an inverted yoga pose that stretches, strengthens, and relaxes your body. It’s an intermediate pose that you can modify to suit your needs.

Technique
Lie on your back with your arms next to your body and palms pressing into the floor. As you inhale, lift your legs to 90 degrees. As you exhale, roll your pelvis off the floor, moving your legs back toward your head. Slowly lower your legs over your head, toward the floor. As you exhale, roll your pelvis off the floor, moving your legs back toward your head. Slowly lower your legs over your head, toward the floor.

Benefits
Halasana improves digestive system, relieves back pain and stress, helps to manage diabetes, stimulates thyroid glands, therapeutic for leg cramps, improves blood circulation, helps during menopause and is an effective remedy for various stomach disorders.

Limitation
Those suffering from back problems or slipped disc, are weak or have injured cervical muscles, have weak legs, hamstring muscles or calf muscles and pregnant women or women during their menstruation time should avoid Halasana.
