Chandigarh SCC celebrates 7th IDY with Kreeda Bharti and CSs Association

The Chandigarh State Chapter Committee of Indian Yoga Association, Kreeda Bharti and CSs Association came together to celebrated 7th IDY virtually. Shri Anuj Garg, Joint Commissioner, Income Tax was the Chief Guest for the day. In his address, he stressed upon the need of yoga to be very useful in the present scenario.

Smt Poonam Goyal lighted the lamp of wisdom to commence the beginning of the program. Smt Vandna Singla from Chicago, USA beautiful rendition of sarswati vandna added a divine flavour.

Shri Navin Phulera, Chairperson of the State Chapter in his address also highlighted the benefits of practices yoga and pranayama daily. Smt Madhu Pandit, Secretary held the meditation party. Other dignitaries present were Shri Ajit Kumar Handa, Vice Chairperson and Smt Krishna Goyal, Vice Chairperson IYA. Shri Tejpal, Smt Rajrani Singhal, Shri Rajan Battra and Smt Sudha were also present as members of IYA Chandigarh Chapter.

The program was attended by about 200 people. Dignitaries from the supporting association also stressed upon including yoga practice daily routine. The programme also saw participants practicing Common Yoga Protocol with Shri Sunil Yadav and Smt Rajrani Singhal. The program concluded with the Shanti Mantra by Smt Poonam.

Niramay Parivar Yogmay Gujarat, Yuva Bharat Yogmay Bharat, by Gujarat SCC

Keeping in mind the current situation of COVID19 pandemic, the Gujarat State Chapter of IYA organised a 15-day virtual Yoga series, Nirmaaya Parivaar Yogmay Gujarat, as a part of the celebrations of 7th International Day of Yoga. From 07 June to 20 June 2021. Yogācharyas and members of the state chapter took sessions on various topics of Yoga.
The program was live on various platforms of social media. The program aimed at reaching thousands in the state as well as globally with the message of Yoga. The program was conducted by eminent Yoga experts in collaboration with reputed educational institutions, thereby creating a very important dialogue between the yogic masters and the youth of India. Yuvā Bhārat, Yogmay Bhārat is the vision and intention of Gujarat SCC.

The first session of the yogic series was taken by Acharya Birju Maharaj, Chairman, IYA Gujarat on the significance of Satkārya Vāda by Maharishi Kapil and Patanjali for Social Integrity and Well-being, and Yama- Niyama as Kriya Yoga.
On Day 2, Shri Shailesh Rathod enlightened everyone on the importance of Bhakti Yoga for Social Integrity and Well-being.

As part of the yogic series, ‘In Conversation’ sessions were also held where Prof. Sharad Joshi, Vice Chairperson, IYA Gujarat and Chairman, Sri Aurobindo Society, Vadodara discussed Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo with Shri Kejal Kansara, Heartfulness Meditation Trainer, Shri Kamlesh Udasi, Secretary, IYA Gujarat, Yoga Expert with Samutkarsh Yoga Academy and Smt Hinal Halani, IYA Gujarat, Anchor Yoga Expert discussed about Pratyāhāra for personal and social well-being, Dr Vijay Kumar, Ayurveda and Therapy Consultant, Associate Professor, LYU and Smt Mauli Bavisker talked about Spiritualising Daily Life – A Key to Wellness.

For the next 2 weeks yogic series included sessions by Smt Mauli Bavisker, Joint Secretary, IYA Gujarat, who enlightened viewers about Laya Yoga and Cyclic Meditation, Smt Bhakti Shah explained in detail about the benefits Savāsana with Guided Yoganidrā Practice, Shri Harish Shukla, Treasurer, IYA Gujarat, Yoga Incharge, Vasant Nature Cure Hospital, Director-Aum Yoga Academy on Pranayama, Shri Vikram Mistry, Joint Secretary, IYA GC, Yoga Trainer, Sivananda Ashram, Ahmedabad on Asana for Diabetes, Shri Vinay Madrasi, Heartfulness Meditation Trainer on Framework of Ashtānga Yoga which was followed by Heartfulness Meditation Practice, Shri Jayraj Vala , Co-ordinator of the Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari on Asanas inspired by forest Animals, Shri Rajeev Kumar Mishra, Project ‘Life’ on Community Outreach through Prekshādhyāna and Yoga, Shri Nilay Mehta, Founder, Niramay Yog and Shri Priyank Panchal, Yoga Therapist on Beeja Mantra with Yogic Practice for energy practice, Smt Zeel Patel, Founder of Abhiyog on Panchamahābhūta Shuddhi and Shri Girjesh Sharma, Founder, Kaivalya Yoga Shala helped viewers to perform asanas correctly.

The programs were telecasted on IYA Gujarat’s YouTube channel as well. People really appreciated the initiative by the state chapter.
The virtual event concluded on June 21 with Shri Subodh Tiwari, Vice President, IYA, Acharya Birju Maharaj, Shri Kamlesh Udasi, Smt Mauli Bavisker, Kejal Kansara, Shri Shailesh Rathod, Smt Meetal Koticha, Dr Kunal N Patel, Dr Vachini Bhatt and Shri Sharad Joshi coming together virtually for an intense discussion on the importance of yoga.

Generosity and Restraint of Heart by Jharkhand SCC

The Jharkhand State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association organised a webinar on June 16, 2021 with Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Heartfulness. The webinar was held on ‘Generosity and Restraint of Heart’ from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm.

The main speaker for the event was Smt Chhavi Sisodia, Joint Secretary Events, Uttarakhand, IYA. Other speakers included Shri Amit Kumar, Secretary, Smt Rikita Swarop, Joint Secretary, Shri Balram Kumar, Member, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Coordinatior, Heartfulness, Jharkhand Zone.

Kerela SCC organises Online Gurukulam

The Kerala Chapter of Indian Yoga Association organised a series of Online Gurukulam from June 16-30, 2021 daily from 8:00 pm -8:45 pm to mark 7th International Day of Yoga. The series was held on Zoom. The program was live of social media platforms— YouTube and Facebook.

MP SCC with Yoga Clinic organised Virtual Event

The Madhya Pradesh State Chapter of IYA, Yoga Clinic, VYASA Center and Maa Ananta Abhudya Sanstha came together on the occasion of IDY for a virtual event on June 21, 2021. The Chief Guest for the celebrations were Shri Lal Singh Arya Ji, National President BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha, Yogacharya Shri Virendra Harit Shammi Ji, Resident of France, Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Shri Narsingh Das Ji, as the special Guest in this program and Dr. RH Lata, Vice President, Madhya Pradesh State Chapter, IYA. Many principals and students of prestigious colleges marked their presence on the day.

Webinar on Ashtanga Yoga by MP SCC & MP Yogasana Sports Association

The Madhya Pradesh State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association organised a webinar on Ashtanga Yoga on June 20, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm. The chief guest for the webinar was Dr Jaideep Arya, Joint Secretary, IYA. Prof ADN Vajpayee, Vice Chancellor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur was present as the special guest and Shri Ved Prakash Sharma ji, Patron, MPSCC was present as the President. Prof Dr RS Sharma, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Madhya Pradesh Medical University, Jabalpur was present as the special guest and the honourable special speakers who marked their presence were Acharya Satyavrat Arya, Vedic Gyan Vigyaan Rishikul, Rohtak, Haryana and Prof Dr. Om Narayan Tiwari, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi University.
Pujya Swami Amritananda ji gave his blessings. The event was a success with many people participating in the webinar.

ABV University with MP SCC organises virtual Yajna

Atal Bihar Vajpayee University, Bilaspur with the support of Madhya Pradesh State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association organised virtual yajna for a week starting from June 18-24, 2021 on Zoom. Everyday yogasana sessions were held from 6:30 pm- 7:30 pm by Shri Abhishek Mahobiya and the lectures were held from 3:30 pm- 4:30 pm.
Shri Prashant Aggarwal, IPS marked his presence as the chief guest while Shri LN Joshi, Uttrakhand Sanskriti University and Dr Pushpanjali Sharma, Chairperson, MP SCC, IYA were present as the special guest and main speakers.
During the yajna, on June 22, 2021, the university also organised yogic kriyas for mental health and healthy lifestyle.

The program was presided over by Acharya ADN Vajpayee, Vice Chancellor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur. The organiser of the virtual event was Dr Sudheer Sharma, Registrar, Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur.

CYS and IYA join hands for an International Yoginar

Centre for Yogic Sciences (CYS), Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital (AVMCH), a constituent college of Vinayaka Missions Research Foundations (VMRF), Salem in collaboration with IQAC & Indian Yoga Association (IYA) organized an international yoginar from June 22-26, 2021 to mark the special occasion of 7th International Day of Yoga 2021.

On June 21, 2021, Medical, Nursing & Physiotherapy students physically (10 students with social distance following COVID- 19 protocols) and virtually (zoom 100 students) demonstrated Common Yoga Protocol. This was followed by the Yoginar for six days on ‘Yoga as Integrative therapy’.

The event was presided by Prof PF Kotur, Dean AVMC and Chief Guest was Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Chairman ICYER at Ananda Ashram, Pondicherry and Director, Standing Publicity, Publication and Public Relations Committee, IYA.

The events were organized under guidance of Prof Madanmohan, Emeritus Professor of Physiology & Director of Centre for Yogic Sciences & Vice Chairperson IYA- Puducherry Chapter. Dr Lakshmi Jatiya of Physiology Department gave admirable support. Organisation was done by Yogachemmal Dr. R. Balaji, Assistant Professor, CYS & Joint – Secretary IYA- Puducherry Chapter and Sri Artchoudane, Assistant Professor, CYS & Life Member IYA.

Eminent Speakers included Dr IV Basavaraddi, Dr Rama Reddy Karri, Dr Sanjay Malpani, Dr Sampadananda Mishra, Dr ST Venkateswaran, Dr Hermant Bhargav, Yogacharini Kalavathi Devi and Yogacharini Sangeeta Laura Biaggi. Yogacharini Devasena Bhavanani of ICYER and Yoganjali Natyalayam blessed the occasion with her divine presence.

CYTER & Pondicherry SCC collaborates for International Webinar

As per guidelines issued by UGC and Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2021) was celebrated at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry in a grand manner from 14th – 21st June 2021 with a weeklong International Webinar on ‘Enhancing Salutogenesis through Yoga Therapy’. Along with this online practical session (From 7 AM to 7.30 AM) through Facebook live every day from 12th to 21st June 2021 conducted by the faculty & Research scholars of CYTER.

This year we were honored to have a galaxy of international experts participating in this Yoginar including Prof K.R. Sethuraman, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Dr. Ramesh Bijlani, Dr. Ishwar V Basavaraddi, Dr. Manjunath NK, Yogacharini Sangeeta Laura Biagi, Dr. Rama Reddy Karri, Yogacharya Bharata Bill Francis Barry, Yogacharini Devasena Bhavanani and Yogini Shailaja Menon.
901 participants across the globe had registered for this weeklong International Webinar, conducted by CYTER of SBV in collaboration with the Pondicherry State Chapter Committee, Indian Yoga Association, AIMST University (Malaysia), Amity University, SVYASA Yoga University, Mantravijaya (USA), Soul Sound Academy (Italy), Sri Aurobindo Ashram (Delhi Branch), Mat & Beyond Yoga Studio (Puchong, Malaysia), ICYER of Ananda Ashram (Pondicherry, India), Manasa Hospital (Andhra Pradesh, India) and the Centre for Yogic Sciences (AVMC, Pondicherry, India).

Day 1 (14.06.2021): The Webinar started at 10.30 AM with Prayer & Invocation by the CYTER team, followed by a welcome address by Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director, CYTER of SBV and a brief introduction of the guests was given by him. The webinar was inaugurated with the inaugural address by the Chief Guest Dr Ishwar V Bassavaraddi, Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi. He emphasised about the importance of the daily practice of Yoga and discussed elaborately about the various salient features and insights of Yoga. Following that Yoga Day 2021 Address was given by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SBV Prof SC Parija. He congratulated CYTER for achieving pinnacles and bringing laurels to SBV and appreciated the team for their efforts in academics, patient care and research. Following that Vote of Thanks by Sri Dayanidy G, Asst. Professor, CYTER of SBV.

Day 2 (15.06.2021) started with the third session by Dr. W Selvamurthy, Chancellor, Amity University. He presented on the topic, “Yoga for Holistic Health: Scientific Perspective” and talked on the prophylactive, promotive and curative potentials of Yoga. The fourth session was taken by Dr. KR Sethuraman, Dean & Senior Professor of Medicine, AIMST University, Malaysia on “Creating a healing environment for Yoga Therapy through Salutogenesis”. He talked on concepts like (i) Curing versus Healing, (ii) Four factors of Healing including placebo effect, Hawthorne effect and Spiritual and Faith Factor, (iii) Optimal Healing Environment (OHE).

Day 3 (16.06.2021) started with the fifth session by Yogacharini Dr. Sangeeta Laura Biagi, Italy on “Klesha, Kosha and benefits of chanting the Pranava AUM”. She talked about the first sound OM from which life originated. She discussed how some specific kind of music helps with stress management, pain management, mood enhancement, social connection and rehabilitation and how Music Therapy vs Sound Healing. Music Therapy is based on memory, connecting to specific parts of brain. Followed by sixth session was given by Dr R Balaji, Assistant Professor, CYS, AVMC, Puducherry on behalf of Dr. Madanmohan Sir, on the topic “Yoga the best lifestyle ever designed”. He discussed health, lifestyle and Yoga, the best lifestyle.

Day 4 (17-06-2021) started with the seventh session on “Yoga works all the way” by Dr Ramesh Bijlani, Sri Aurobindo Ashram – Delhi Branch. The eighth session for the day was taken by Yogacharini Smt. Devasena Bhavanani, General Secretary and Head Dept. of Natyam, Yoganjali Natyalayam & ICYER, Pondicherry on “Managing Emotional Health through Navarasa of Natya Yoga”. Introducing the eight Indian classical dance forms and four abhinaya she beautifully presented how ‘Navarasa’ the nine emotional attitudes of classical Indian dance can help in managing & enhancing one’s emotional health.

On Day 5, the ninth session was taken on “Evidence based Yoga in Psychiatry” by Dr Rama Reddy Kari, Director and Psychiatrist, Manasa Hospital, Rajamahendravaram. He gave insights on bridging Yoga and Psychiatry to expand the horizon of curing to healing and how the Bhagavad Gita can be a great psychotherapeutic tool for the same. Followed by tenth session for the day was taken by Dr Meena Ramanathan, Deputy Director of CYTER, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherryon “Enhancing wellness through CYTER outreach activities”.

Day 6 (19-06-2021) commenced with the eleventh session on “Progressive transformation of self towards self” by Shri Bharata Bill Francis Barry, Founder, Mantravijaya, USA. The twelfth session for the day was taken by Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director CYTER of SBV, CYTER on “A role model for the holistic integration of yoga therapy & modern medicine”.

Day 7 (20-06-2021) saw thirteenth session on “Historical perspectives & recent trends in yoga research” by Dr. Manjunath NK, Pro Vice-Chancellor & Director of Research SVYASA Bengaluru. He emphasis that Research is all about that how to bring experimental and experiential things together so that whatever have been written thousands of years ago that is not a myth and modern science also accept it. Followed by fourteenth session for the SBV IDY 2021 was taken by Shailaja Menon, Founder Mat & Beyond Yoga Studio Puchong Malaysia on “Yoga & Stress relief”. She mentioned that Yoga is not just getting twisted but to know our body and mind well.

Day 8 (21.06.2021) IDY common yoga protocol was taken by Sri Dayanidy G, Assistant professor, CYTER through Zoom at 7.00 am. Group of participants were joined online. Followed by weeklong international webinar was concluded by Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director, CYTER with a Thanks note.

Yoga Sessions by WB SCC on IDY

West Bengal State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association organised online sessions ‘Yoga & Happiness’ to mark the celebrations of 7th IDY. The sessions were spearheaded by Shri Sisir Biswas, Joint Secretary, West Bengal SCC.

The state chapter organised three practical sessions of Common Yoga Protocol that were live on Facebook for spreading awareness and for the promotion of yoga. At 7am and 6:30pm practical sessions were held and at 9pm a session on Bhakti Yoga was organised. More than 400 students participated. All were given participation certificate.

WB SCC organises a 3-day Webinar

The West Bengal State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association from June 19-21, 2021 from 7am-8am in collaboration with Bishnupur Swami Vivekananda Yoga Education Society. The main speakers for the webinar were Dr Abhijit Ghosh, Dr Chanchal Kaibartya, Shri Chandrakanth Rathore and Ms.Priti Nandi. More than 60 participants marked their presence for the webinar.

WB SCC and VYASA comes together for CYP

The West Bengal State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association and Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA), Kolkata organised a session on Common Yoga Protocol. The session was taken by Dr Abhijit Ghosh, Secretary, WB SCC. More than 100 yoga lovers participated in the online session.

UP SCC organises CYP practice session

Uttar Pradesh State Chapter Committee of Indian Yoga Association organised a Common Yoga Protocol session on the occasion of 7th International Day of Yoga on June 13, 2021.

Many people participated to the learning session. Yog Guru Prince Chaudhary and Shri Piyush Kant Mishra also marked their presence. Dr Amarjeet Yadav, Chairperson, Uttar Pradesh SCC expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the participants.

TN SCC celebrates 7th IDY

With the blessings of Param Pujya Yoga Rishi Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj, Chairman, IYA, Patanjali Yog Samiti, Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu Youth Yoga Asana Sports Association and Tamil Nadu State Chapter Committee of Indian Yoga Association together celebrated the seventh International Yoga Day online.
Thousands of people participated in the event. Initiating the event, Shri Paras said, “Today not only the country, but the whole world is moving forward on the path of yoga. Yoga is a basic mantra to eradicate diseases, to avoid a terrible epidemic like corona. Yoga can act as brahmastra if done correctly. All the diseases of our body can be eradicated and we can also be saved from epidemics like corona.

The program saw the presence of Shri Balasubramaniam, Smt Rajeshwari, Shri Shiv Sangam, Shri Kishore, Shri Ram Prakash, Shri Dr. Parthipan and Dr. Elangovan, Secretary, TN SCC. Thousands of brothers and sisters from all over Tamil Nadu took a pledge to go door to door to teach yoga to everyone and through yoga to create a healthy, prosperous, cultured, characterful India.
