Free yoga sessions for women municipal workers held in Chennai under IYA-TNSCC Samavesh Program

As part of the Ministry of AYUSH’s “Samavesh” program—one of the 10 signature events under the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations, Smt S. Lalitha, Professional Member of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA) and founder of Abhyasaa Yoga Center and Therapy in Chennai,

successfully conducted Free Yoga Sessions for Women Municipal Workers from 15th to 30th May 2025. The program was held in association with the IYA Tamil Nadu State Chapter Committee (TNSCC), reflecting IYA’s deep-rooted commitment to inclusive and accessible yoga outreach.

The sessions were designed to support the physical and mental well-being of women municipal workers, a group often overlooked despite their vital role in society. Through these yoga classes, participants experienced relief from work-related stress, learned techniques for better breathing and relaxation, and developed a renewed sense of inner calm and resilience. The initiative was widely appreciated and applauded, reaffirming the power of yoga in transforming lives across all sections of society.
