The Indian Yoga Association (IYA), Chandigarh Chapter, continues to inspire the community by successfully organizing two impactful yoga events in February 2025.
The State Chapter conducted Yog Shivir in the open Green Public Park, Block-C, Aerocity, GMADA, under the leadership of Dr. Pardeep Agnihotri, Secretary, IYA Chandigarh State Chapter (CSC). The event witnessed the participation of 45 enthusiastic Yog Sadhaks, ranging from 7 to 70 years old, demonstrating the accessibility of yoga for all age groups.
The session was led by Ms. Rita Prasad, Mukhya Yoga Shikshika, under the guidance of Mr. Mahendra Nath Pandey ji, Treasurer, IYA Chandigarh Chapter. He conducted demonstrations of Yogic Jogging, Sun Salutation, Virbhadrasana, and forward/backward bending postures, which were highly appreciated by the participants.
Mr. R.S. Tuli, Pradhan, Block-C, Aerocity, extended his gratitude to the Indian Yoga Association for organizing this initiative and spreading awareness about yoga. Special thanks were extended to Sh. Amarjeet Singh, Sh. Kuldeep Chauhan, Sh. Rajinder Gupta, Ms. Sonika (Yoga Trainer), and Dr. Promila Rani (Naturopath & Yoga Teacher), whose efforts contributed to the event’s success.
After the Shivir, refreshments were arranged for all participants by Mr. Tarun Arora, Ms. Krishna Nagpal, Ms. Sonika, and Ms. Rita Prasad. The event received widespread recognition, with coverage in leading newspapers like Dainik Tribune and Punjabi Tribune.
Continuing its commitment to promoting yoga education, the IYA Chandigarh Chapter hosted a six-day event at DAV College, Sector 10-D, Chandigarh. This was the third consecutive event of its kind, reflecting the increasing interest in yoga and holistic well-being.
The event, organized under the flagship of Mr. Mahendra Nath Pandey ji, saw an impressive turnout of 80 participants. The sessions included Yogic Jogging, Sun Salutation, and various yoga postures, which received enthusiastic responses from attendees.
The event was appreciated by Sh. Nitesh Goyal ji, Faculty & Program Officer of NSS Camp, who recognized IYA’s efforts in spreading awareness about yoga and its benefits. The support from the DAV Institute Management Team was invaluable in making this event a success.
