Gujarat SCC meets to discuss upcoming activities

Gujarat State Chapter Committee of Indian Yoga Association met online on August 21, 2021 at 9:00 pm to review the developments, activities undertaken and future initiatives of the Chapter. Further, discussions were also held about the contributions of all 5 zones of Gujarat Chapter, planning of the second foundation day of Gujarat SCC and curriculum of the Foundation Yoga Program.

The meeting saw the presence of Acharya Birju Maharaj, Shri Kamlesh Udasi, Smt Mauli Bavisker, Shri Jayraj Vala, Shri Zeel Mehta, Shri Nilay Mehta, Shri Rajeev Mishra and Shri Vikram Mistry.
The meeting commenced with congratulating Acharya Birju Maharaj on the release of his book ‘Patanjali Yoga Sutra A complete manual of Auto-Gene Therapy: Yognosis the Metaphor of Metamorphosis’. Smt Mauli Bavisker also received a pat on her back for hosting Damaru’s Annual Yoga Festival: Bilva 2021. Smt.Bhakti Shah could not attend the meeting, but the members congratulated her as well for the award she received.

Talking about the future programs, Acharya Birju Maharaj plans to organise discussions to talk about his book in detail. Thereafter, committee teachers were requested by the media team to create short videos/ reels for social media uploads. Suggestions were put forward to the education committee headed by Dr. Vijaya to add 50 hours of relevant yoga teachings to the Foundation Yoga Course. The Gujarati translation of Kaivalyadhama books have been suggested to be added to the recommended reading list for the Yoga Programme.
The members also suggested that an in-person programme can now be planned as COVID seems to be in control. It was proposed to start a book reading circle as a regular ongoing weekly or fortnightly activity of the Chapter. The meeting concluded with the decision to meet soon.
