Vivekananda Yoga Abhyas Sanstha (VYASA-Kolkata), an Associate Center of the Indian Yoga Association, was invited by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University to conduct a yoga awareness program for youth from October 20 to 23, 2024, as part of their annual orientation program for new students. The sessions were held daily, with practical yoga sessions in the mornings (6:30–8:00 AM) and theoretical sessions in the afternoons (2:30–4:00 PM).
The program, led by Acharya Shri Ashish Kumar Pal and Shri Ghanshyam Chaurasia, reached 400 new students and adhered to the guidelines of the Indian Yoga Association. The morning sessions included Sandhi Yoga, Drut Yoga, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra, Surya Namaskar, and more, supplemented by audiovisual demonstrations. The theoretical sessions explored the principles of Maharishi Patanjali, Vedic chants, yoga-related mantras, and the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
The program was enriched by the presence of esteemed figures such as Honorable Vice-Chancellor Shri P.S. Pandey and several other university officials. Messages on the significance of yoga, sports, and health were shared with the students, emphasizing a holistic approach to well-being and national development. The sessions concluded with a chant invoking peace and well-being for all.
