The Union Ministry of AYUSH, through Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, organized Yoga Utsav in Jamshedpur as part of the Hundred Days Countdown Program for International Yoga Day. Celebrated by World Vision Foundation, an associate of the Indian Yoga Association, the event saw over 3,000 people practicing yoga from 6:30 to 7:30 AM at about 50 locations in the city.

Participants included 16 schools of Ramakrishna Mission School, Yoga Center of Patanjali, Art of Living Yoga Center, and Gayatri Parivar Mandir. The Sun Temple in Jamshedpur was declared an iconic place, with yoga sessions also held on its campus.

The second part of the program was a seminar from 5:00 to 6:30 PM on “Yoga for Women Empowerment.” The chief guest was Smt Nirmala Bareilly, Regional Joint Director of Education Kolhan, and the special guest was Smt Preeti Sinha, Principal of Gulmohar High School. Shri Amit Kumar, Secretary of Indian Yoga Association Jharkhand State Chapter, expressed pride in Indian women adopting yoga in their lives.
