On the 89th day of the ‘100 Days Countdown Yoga Mahotsav of International Yoga Day 2024,” an event sponsored by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi, under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, took place in two sessions at Dani Public School in Khunti District, Jharkhand supported by Jharkhand State Chapter of Indian Yoga Association.
During the first session, participants engaged in the common yoga protocol outlined by the MDNIY, dedicating 45 minutes to the practice.
Shri Shashank Ray, President of the BJP Yuva Morcha Jharkhand, urged the youth to prioritize their health and mental clarity through yoga and meditation. Shri KD Tiwari, Registrar of Rural Upkar Sansthan, Jharkhand, extended gratitude in the form of a vote of thanks.
In the second session, Smt. Pushpa Tiwari, Chairperson of the Krishna Govinddani Charitable Trust in Khunti highlighted women’s significant roles in academics, sports, and societal contributions. Smt. Sujata Patnaik, National Vice President of WICCI Equitable Parenting Council, shared how yoga transformed her life, enabling her to lead an active lifestyle.
Smt. Sangeeta Jha, Founder of Advat NGO in Kolkata, highlighted how yoga has aided 70,000 girls and women in overcoming menstrual and menopausal issues, underscoring its transformative impact. Ms Pooja Arya, a PhD Divyang Yoga Professor and practitioner, emphasized women’s empowerment through yoga. Smt. Sangeeta Tiwari, Secretary of Dani Public School Khunti, encouraged children to embrace yoga.
During the event, distinguished guests including Shri Shashank Raj, BJP Jharkhand State President of Yuva Morcha, and Shri Sanjay Mahato of BJP, along with Shri Chandan Prajapati, President of Jharkhand Writer Association, and Shri Amit Kumar, Jharkhand State Chapter, Secretary, IYA inspired children to adopt yoga practice. Schools and colleges were urged to participate in the 89-day countdown to International Yoga Day 2024.
Numerous institutions and organizations, including Dani Public School Khunti, Arjun Shooting Club, Rifle Shooting Club, Government Primary School, D.A.V. Centenary Public School Khunti, Saraswati Shishu Mandir Kathitand, Gramin Upkar Sansthan Jharkhand, and Indian Yoga Association, actively participated in the event, along with several others. Invitations were extended to 60 educational institutions, schools, Cutie Mark Counseling Centre, Atmadarshan Yoga Center, and others.
