RV Institute of Management

RV Institute of Management organized a pro bono yoga training session for RSPA Vidya Kendra students – Ragiguda Temple, Jayanagar, Bengaluru, on August 5, 2023 to mark the celebration of AIIMS – National Management Week 2023, scheduled from August 1-7, 2023.

The session was conducted by Dr Purushottam Bung, Director, RVIM. It commenced with an introduction of Yoga and its advantages for the students. Students also solicited their understanding on yoga and its importance which gave the organising team an insight into their comprehension of the essence of yoga and meditation. The session was conducted for 2 hours including breathing exercises, various asanas and yoga postures and concluded with brief meditation and prayer.

All the students practiced various breathing exercises along with the instructor and were briefed on how breathing exercises hold paramount significance for children’s well-being. By practicing controlled and mindful breathing, youngsters enhance their lung capacity and oxygen intake. These exercises promote relaxation, aiding in stress reduction and improved focus. Moreover, fostering healthy breathing habits early on sets a foundation for lifelong physical and mental wellness.

With the practice of basic yoga asanas students were taught how basic yoga asanas (poses) play a vital role in children’s development and how they enhance flexibility and balance, supporting growing bodies. These asanas promote better posture and body awareness from a young age. Additionally, practicing yoga cultivates mindfulness and stress management skills that can benefit children throughout their lives.

As the soothing sound of chanting mantras filled the air, everyone immersed themselves in the practice, connecting with their inner selves and finding moments of tranquillity. Our conviction is that through the practice of yoga, starting early in life, individuals enhance their physical and mental well-being.

Amidst the calming resonance of chanted mantras, all present engaged deeply in the session, forging a connection with their inner beings and discovering pockets of serenity.
