In the meeting of IYA’s Standing Committee for Academics and Accreditation, held on June 12, 2019 in The Art of Living, Bengaluru, the Syllabi and the Accreditation process for Courses to be conducted under the aegis of IYA were finalized. It was decided that the accredited Institutes of IYA, who will conduct the Courses, will award the Certificates / Diplomas and these will carry the Seal of IYA along with the Seals of the respective Institutes.
The mandate to the following three IYA – certified Courses was given vide Circular Resolutions of 21st July 2019:
- Foundation Course in Yoga (FCY) – 50 hours duration,
- Certificate Course in Yoga (CCY) – 200 hours duration, and
- Advance Certificate Course in Yoga (ACCY) – 500 hours duration,
These Courses are now being conducted by several IYA Member Institutions namely The Art of Living, Sivananda Institute, Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, Krishnamachari Yoga Mandiram, Sri Aurobindo Society and Associate Centers namely Chiranjeev Foundation, Swasti Yoga Centre, Yoga Wellness Center in the country.
Further, on considering requests from various Institutions, IYA is now working towards certification to be provided retrospectively to past students of Institutions i.e. provide Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL).
