Telangana SCC Convenes its First Meeting @ Kanha 

Telangana State meet took place on March 7, 2020, at Kanha Shantivanam, World HQ of Heartfulness Institute, Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Hyderabad. The meeting was conducted by Shri Ravi Tulumuri, Joint-Secretary, IYA and presided in person by Rev. Daaji (Shri Kamlesh D Patel), President Shri Ram Chandra Mission and Global Guide Heartfulness.

The meeting was attended by Ekta Bouderlique, Dr. Shreevarma and Shri Amardeep from Heartfulness, Dr. V. Ramakantha, Chairman, Shri Shridhar Rao, Vice-Chairman, Dr. K. Subramanian, Chairman –APSCC, B. Sailaja, Vice Chairman, Shri P. Sudhakar Reddy, Secretary, Shri Samba Siva Reddy, Life Member IYA and G. Srinivas Reddy, Member IYA.

In the meeting, the agenda proposed by Shri Ravi Tulumuri covered Memberships, Fund Raising for IYA activities, Academic & Research activity, Public Relations, Bank account opening details, amongst other subjects discussed.

In order to aid this process all over India, Rev. Daaji proposed that Shri Ram Chandra Mission ashrams will henceforth open their doors to all IYA event activities that need to be organized, provided no commercial activities are carried out in the context of the same. He also insisted several times during the meeting that all IYA membership and subscriptions should be strictly based on voluntary donations.

He also stated the importance of a Global awareness and standardization of yoga is required to be taken up by IYA.

In order to establish a larger membership and participation in the activities of IYA, as a democratic process, it was decided to approach Corporates and various organizations, institutes as one body of Yoga that the IYA represents. Each institution, corporation and individuals interested in yoga could be members and thus have access to entire range of yoga activities proposed by all IYA organizations in order to popularize Yoga for Social wellbeing and introduce an Integrated System of Yoga.

It was also discussed to locate and provide extensive research facilities for carrying out fundamental and clinical research in the discipline in order to prescribe different courses for imparting yoga education, training, therapy and research, including the Diabetics protocol and Heart diseases protocol, in common by all yoga organizations of IYA.

The Union among the different Schools of Yoga was a major priority according to Rev. Daaji. Then Rev. Daaji gave a short address to IYA through all present there and conducted a brief meditation session for all present.
